To be fair, they did hint heavily that Aizen was about to say that Ichigo was "half human, half soul reaper", but he didn't have to say the last part since Ichigo's dad came in, meaning that the question pretty much answered itself at that point

Aizen: "ichigo you are half human and half..." Ichigo's dad who is a soul reaper drops from the sky. Jack: "I wonder what what that other half is?"

Ichigo is surprised about his Dad, but he knows they're in the middle of battle and dont have time to have a whole conversation about his roots lol Also Rangiku isn't Gin's lieutenant, that's Kira. If you recall during the Soul Society arc tho, there were some short flashbacks that showed that Gin and Rangiku have known each other since they were children. And Gin apologized to Rangiku when he left with Aizen, so there is some history there

Ichigo's dad has a shred of his captain cloak on his shoulder don't underestimate him he is a Garp level beast of a man. He showed up because Aizen was about to tell him, "you're half human half soul reaper" because his dad had him as a soul reaper cause we saw he was still a soul reaper in the pendulum flashback 110 years ago. Ichigo is technically still 15 (which is crazy) so he did not have time to have Ichigo when he was human and become a soul reaper later.

Just realized Jack probably thinks Soul Reaper (Souls more specifically) isn't a species so he isn't considering that Ichigo can be half human and half soul reaper (soul) because Jack probably thinks of Souls as human. But remember when Urahara explained the 3 worlds before the Soul Society invasion that these are separate worlds with separate beings. Unless you invade 1 of the worlds from the 1 you started in when you appear in that world it means you were re-incarnated into it as an entirely new creature. Souls in the Soul Society are not human they merely were human in their past life and look like humans act like humans, but they are composed of entirely different matter. This is based on the Buddhist philosophy of there being 6 worlds that beings reincarnate to and from and change their form entirely each time. Jack is probably thinking from the western standpoint of when you die your soul just goes to the afterlife and you're still you so he isn't considering that Souls are as different to Humans as Hollows are.

Jack you're thinking way too hard about this. Isshin showing up was just meant to be a simple case of applying "show don't tell" to what Aizen was already saying. The point is that Ichigo is half human and half soul reaper. We're getting that information provided via the visual reminder that his dad is a soul reaper rather than via the completion of the sentence itself. The point Aizen is making is that a regular run of the mill human cannot just pick up a zanpakuto and wield it as a soul reaper would. There is a racial aspect to the equation that Ichigo has not considered until this point.

I get why the scene felt off to you where they cut the chatter about Isshin (Ichigo's dad) short, but you have to consider the circumstances. Isshin is very strong as you have seen, he arrived to help stop Aizen. Isshin WAS prepared to explain everything to Ichigo, that's why he escaped with him temporarily. Ichigo was mature enough, however, to tell Isshin that he did not have to tell him right now... and Ichigo also knew that they are fighting for the fate of the world and it's not really the time for that kind of conversation. Stopping Aizen takes priority. Also, Ichigo already got his biggest answer because Aizen was going to say "Human and Soul Reaper", Isshin showing up as a Soul Reaper was proof that he was half Soul Reaper genetically. Also, Ichigo saying he did not want to trample on Isshin's feelings was a callback to the very first arc of Bleach where Rukia says the same thing to Ichigo in regards to his mother's death. Rangiku is not Gin's lieutenant, but it was implied in soul society arc that they used to be friends or had some sort of relation with each other.
