You were saying that you might be able to buy Austin property by transferring your brokerage to the US and then borrowing against those holding. I need to do something similar. I have a 30 year mortgage (with 20 left) at 3.65%. I have 2 Teslas financed through Tesla at 2.99%. I just got a Tesla Solar roof financed through Tesla (apparently they have a pretty crappy partner bank for this) at 5.99%. I want to refi into a 15 and get cash out to pay off the Solar roof loan. But, I have 0 income. I retired last May and I am basically living off my portfolio of ~$15 million ($13 million in IRAs). I tried getting a refi through my existing mortgage holder (Wells Fargo) as well as Rocket Mortgage/Quicken Loan but they declined because of my lack of income even though I have $15 million in collateral. Somebody suggested trying to get a mortgage broker to find me a loan. Though I am loathe to pay any broker do research that I should be able to do myself, I'm thinking I might have to bite the bullet. What do you think and are you going to go to a mortgage broker to buy Austin properties?

Just love listening to what you have to say. Keep up the great work and so glad you’re here in Austin. I’ve lived here for over forty years and am proud to call it home. Tesla Fan Grandma.
