Dan's in the studio in Nashville, with Mark Lewis recording the drums for Album #4!

Any reason for the recording being done in the US for this album?? Or just better equipment available there?

Tina

..... with only half a year delay ...... 😎 (Still great news!)

Ne Obliviscaris

Because Mark Lewis is producing the album this time and though we are flying him to Australia to track the 2nd half of the album, we decided to send Dan to him to record in this amazing Nashville studio to ensure we got the absolute best possible drum sound we could get on this album - Tim

Awesome! This album will surely help me get through the tough times that's coming. Exciting!

Maybe it's my air-con creating too much background noise but I swear I just heard Dan say, "Damn prog metal..." like he was contemplating taking a Marie Kondo approach to his drum setup. I hope that's not the case. Extravagant or grandiose drum setups are one of the things I love about this genre (so long as the drummer can actually utilise the gear effectively - which Dan obviously can). Personally, I think you need more drums. How about some overhanging octobans? Or some electronic pads on the side? Or maybe a third bass drum for when you're not blasting and just want to groove? A cowbell? I'll stop now.

By the way, it was great to hear from Dan with his short update. Maybe it's because of the tier I'm on but I haven't seen much of him in these videos over the years. Hopefully that will change in future - especially as the new album starts to take shape. Oh, I really enjoyed Dan's work on the Iapetus album too (The Body Cosmic). Clearly I am a fan of Dan! :)

Tina

Dan is quite elusive overall .....

Valerie Syren

Wow, that is an awesome space! Can't wait to hear the results!

Tom Williams

Yes, that was a "damn prog metal with their super big setups"

Andrew Jantas

Let’’s start taking bets to see who releases the next album first, NeO or Be’lakor? 😎

Scott Rance

Sweet.........so looking forward to new music

Dina

Great news! I'm sure #4 will be amazing ❤
