Hey friends! 💛 Sharing with you my Day 19 sketch! I’m really happy with how the shadows turned out—the house looks so sunny, and the shadowing is just perfect!

One of my favorite parts of drawing houses during Inktober is creating depth and realism by playing with light and shadow. To achieve this, I used a cold blue-violet marker for the shadows and a warm yellowish tone for the sunny side. This mix creates a beautiful contrast that makes the drawing feel three-dimensional and lifelike.

Here’s a tip: when adding shadows, always think about where the light is coming from. The cold blue-violet is perfect for cool, shadowy areas, while the yellowish tones mimic the warmth of sunlight, helping the house pop. By placing these colors next to each other, I created a stronger sense of depth.

For an extra boost of realism, remember that shadows aren’t just flat dark areas—they can vary in intensity. Softening the edges or layering in the darkest spots can add even more dimension to your sketches.
