Thanks to one of Helen's comments I am sending this post out.

One of my favorite things about modding is seeing how everyone fills in the blanks of their own "Head Cannon." While the history books might paint a certain picture, I know this community gets a lot more creative than just "Nord with a sword."

I’m genuinely curious.. when you’re roaming the Reach or stepping into the Blue Palace, what species is your Dragonborn actually?

I’ve seen some incredible setups lately, from Dragonoids (the classic Human-Dragon hybrid) to those leaning into the darker side of the Aurbis as Succubi, Incubi, or even straight-up Daedra in mortal form. Some of my buddies role plays as a Snow Elf.

Katsune from my Ithelia mod is my Kitsune Dragonborn who acts like a cat.

I will use my banter list for the NPC's (Including Serana, Frea ReForged, and J'Zargo Unleashed)

Person who set off the idea here- my first Dovahkiin is a physical throwback, tall, strong Atmoran warrior who is very much aware of being Dovah in a mortal body. I even have combat rules for that one. NO spell if there's shout that does the same. Two hand greatsword to mimic swiping with the tail this body hasn't got. Or two swords, to bufftet with blades instead of wings. No shield, just unrelenting force. Archery, because Bormahu's artifact is a bow. Conjuring, because it's literately what the name Talathar translates to. Tah Lah Aar(Pack-magic-servitor ). The 'th' between the second and third syllables is a mortal corruption of a Dovah name. My second character is a Snow Elf. Displaced in time from the Atmoran conquest. Knows she's a Tounge. Knows she's several eras away from home due to an Act of Auri-el. Currently getting her bearings and figuring out what exactly my liege and Sovereign- Auri-El requires. He knows what He's doing. Avoiding fighting the dragons when possible- knows it's not wise to pick a fight with lesser Aedra- at least not without finding out what's set them on the warpath. And if they are about Auriel-Akatosh's business or are among the strayed. I swap between them depending on the mood I"m in that day. And I've gotta go for now.

Thank you for taking the time to post :) Such awesome detail :)

I am a little more classic. My Dragonborn is a half-orc-nord, without fangs. I use Alternate Start to begin as a thrall manipulated by necromancers. I manage to escape and meet Angi who teaches me archery and hunting for years before I set off on an adventure. After I end up living with the Forsworn after escaping Cidhna and I make a sort of pilgrimage of hagraven to discover their cults and magic. I then plan to become half-werewolf, half-vampire during my adventures as a half-orc-nord. :v

I have played as a centaur but the mods i used just don’t work anymore. I really loved the idea of being a centaur in Skyrim. I wish someone would make a new centaur mod from scratch and make it generally more realistic to the way they are in lore (dnd or other world building games) I feel like I and a lot of other players are definitely missing out on a working centaur mod. Sorry about the shpeel, but I think a centaur or even a faun race would be cool one to try!

Creating race's isn't my cup of tea sadly XD Doing that is extremely time consuming >.>; I have seen many pour months into it and some are satisfied with the results. Others not so much.

Kaidan

Oh dang.

Ram

It’s canon, not cannon.

This is why Grammarly and Word Spellcheck/Copilot exists.

Most of the time it's simply a Breton (like like mages and their racials) or a Nord. Only custom race I've installed is the Kyubi race. I turn to them if I feel like playing a kinda unhinged char. Made my own backstory for them. Basically they do not have a conscience, only their upbringing instills behavioral patterns in them that make them able to function in 'normal' societies. Given they have natural affinity to stealth skills etc. the Thalmor abduct young Kyubi and raise them without instilling any of the behavioral traits they would receive if raised in a Kyubi community. So they make perfect, remorseless Assassins and their like. So a Kyubi char that escaped their service makes a great char for Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild or Volkihar (need to try that some time) playthroughs. Not necessarily evil, just indifferent to the plight of others.
