Last Human (Episode 7) Devlog 1 (plus Serenity C1 info) (Patreon)

Hey everyone...

Episode 7 is nearly done with the coding process. It took me a bit longer on the Serenity (chapter 1) rebuild than I thought so I didn't get started on renders yet for LH. But that should be any day now. I am shooting for an 'end of June' release for episode 7 of LH. We'll see how it plays out. I decided on some last minute rewrites of a few things so I am spending a bit longer in the coding process than planned. But episode 7 will introduce 2 new characters that are from another part of the Pantheria planet. These are the last new characters that will be introduced in season 1 (which will end with episode 8). And before you ask, yes I have a season 2 planned, and it will be a separate build just like I did with Serenity.

Serenity rebuild - As I mentioned in my last post, I decided I would not rewrite the first chapter of Serenity. However, there is an event in the game that really needs to be rewritten. It causes some people to not play any further due to the content. At the time I wrote it, the scene where you meet Cassie and Samantha for the first time had become controversial due to it basically being r**e. I came back and added a choice to bypass the scene. But in retrospect, this isn't enough because you still know it's there. It bothered me when I was going back through it after several years. I cringed at that scene. I didn't mention this in my last post because I needed to think about what I could do to fix it before bringing it up. I've made the decision to fix that once and for all. I will be rewriting that scene, redoing the graphics, the whole nine yards. This got me thinking... I also want to redo one other scene. The one where you first go to confront Morgan at her house. Those images are just awful. Although I already edited some of the dialogue in that scene during the rebuild, I'd like to make a few adjustments and extend the scene a bit because they were still essentially strangers at that point. A rewrite of (at least) these 2 scenes will better fit the story.

So, at some point in the near future, I'll be releasing another update for Serenity chapter 1. I'll be working on that stuff in spare time (as I have time). Outside of those 2 scenes, I'm fairly happy with everything else. And although there might be a slightly jarring difference in the graphics quality, I'll feel better having removed that content from my game. The last thing I ever wanted to do was possibly trigger anyone or cause some controversy through an adult vn that was meant to be stress-free and relaxing.

Anyway, time to get back to work on LH. First priority is to get you guys the next update as soon as possible. In between times, I'll do a little on those rewrites/re-renders for Serenity chapter 1 and eventually I'll have that ready. I may attempt to create an update package so you don't have to redownload the entire thing. We'll see how it plays out.
