Last Human (Episode 7) Devlog 2 (Patreon)

Yep I know... only on devlog 2??? LOL. The crazy thing is that I am already halfway done with renders so I could very well beat my original goal of releasing at the end of June. Well, also I have chosen not to do as many devlogs as I used to because there really just isn't much to say outside of "got this much done, still have this to do, blah blah fucking blah...". I'd rather have a significant amount of work done when I post. And I definitely have gotten to that point now.

I did 126 renders and 3 animations just yesterday. Saturday is such a great day for me to work because the wife is out with her friends the whole weekend, it's quiet, and I get absolutely no interruptions. I get on a good roll and end up going all day non-stop sometimes (what I like to call "plugged in"). I get plugged in and pose and render like a madman for hours.

ANYWAY... Episode 7 will be another nice long one for you guys and I think a really good one too. I think I said I would be introducing 2 more characters. Uh, no. Haha... We are introducing 5 because I forgot about a certain 3 that were in this episode (that I won't spoil for you). I will go ahead and spoil who the first 2 are - They are none other than the King's Blade. Yep... like the Queen's Blade, but this pair of muscle-bound, tough kitties are in training to escort our new Pantherian king whenever he is in town. You will have the option to sleep with one or both... or not. I haven't decided yet, but one of those options could happen during the season finale (episode 8). This will be a situation where if you make the choice NOT to sleep with one (or the other or both), that type of content with those characters will be disabled going forward into the next season of LH. After all, I know not everyone will be into the big muscular females. But if you are, there will be a process of getting to know them and then of course... boom-boom time.

The other 3 characters are actually the main focus of Episode 7, which is why I didn't want to spoil too much of that here. And one of them is a special character that will have a bit more development than the other 2 (in this episode - the others will get more later too). This one girl was inspired by certain characters from quite a few other VN's and from a few anime shows I've seen. I kind of came up with her backstory on the fly based on that and I was so into how that was going, I pushed a bit further with it. She's great, I can't wait for you guys to meet her and get some feedback.

Already, Last Human is starting to become exactly what I was going for when I started working on it. I wanted it to have more developed characters, sci-fi... a good episodic story so we can do different things each episode. I wanted to improve on the things I learned and mistakes I made making Serenity. And yeah, I've still made mistakes and some things still happen a bit fast... but I feel like I did a lot better here. All of this information is being used as I move forward writing Princess of Chaos. It will have very heavy character development. Characters with personality traits, habits, and little details that I've never really focused on as much in Serenity or LH. I won't call it my 'magnum opus' or anything, but I think with each VN I create, I am bringing the experience from previous projects over with me and using that.

As far as graphics go... I am still trying to improve that also. Longer animations with more details. I hate those animations that are just a loop of two hips banging back and forth. Head/neck movements, eyes blinking and closing, mouth opening and closing. It takes more time but it looks so much better. Sex scenes now have more dialogue during the act so it isn't like "wham, bam, thank ya ma'am" anymore. This is something I'd like to go back and improve in some previous scenes in Serenity and LH as well.

Well anyway, lots coming your way soon. So stay tuned. At the rate I'm going, we won't be far from an LH release. I can't say for sure a concrete date yet, but I will once I get to that familiar point where I know we're there. Also, I did promise another render set for a character. I just haven't gone back and finished making those because I've been focused on LH pretty hard. But that will be coming soon for patrons.
