SAY WHAT SAY WHAT

It's the Family Values Tour of podcasting, as we bring on the nu-metal podcast originators, ROACH KOACH, to discuss a truly intense, long, and mostly bad soundtrack, the metal-inspired Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 OST. Join us and Lorin, Jenny, and Matt, as we run through a soundtrack that features some nu-metal amongst a host of other metal-based genres, from death metal to uhh, Seether.

Thanks to Fiendly for donating to make this happen and to Sworn Enemy for writing one of the best/worst songs ever.

Finger Eleven might be bigger in Canada and Northern US, but don't forget they had a HUGE smash hit with Paralyzer! I feel like most millenials/some gen z are fans of that tune.

Yeah that’s really true. And also bizarre that they had already crossed over in Canada with an adult contemporary single but were still trying to make it in the US as a heavy rock band.

As someone who lived on the outskirts of Detroit in 1999-2000, Finger Eleven were up there with LB in terms of airplay at the time (the alt-rock station in Detroit broadcast out of Windsor with 100kw, and was subject to Cancon regulations) and it was kinda surprising to hear that their singles got zero play outside of Canada when I'd travel to inland cities like Cleveland and Cincinnati. This was of course many years pre-Paralyzer.
