Producer Dan finally joins us for an episode as we talk to him about what it was like to get into nu-metal in its third generation and how he came to be watching Woodstock 99 on pay-per-view as a 7 year-old. As for the album, we are reviewing Edgewater's only major-label album thanks to Josh, who fell in love with this band due to the Punisher soundtrack. It's a 2004 album that straddles the line between butt-rock and nu-metal and we find it a little bit hard to love, as it takes its influences from Staind, Puddle of Mudd, and a host of other bands that lived in that guitar tone. We also take a look at some of the odd lyrics and their hilarious description as to why they named their band Edgewater.

Yikes

"Look how they massacred ma' boy" hahaha. The critiques are valid, though! My favorite songs on the record were "Science of it all," "Neglected," "The Story Of," and "Quitter." And yes, I was 16 when I heard this song and album for the first time, so it definitely falls under, "Music I ate up as a dumbass teenager." I remember reading somewhere that the band said Wind-Up dropped them cause the they wanted to make the band sound more like Counting Crows and they didn't wanna do that. They went heavier on "We're Not Robots" with songs like "Get It Right," "Rock is dead," and "Engage"

Hahaha, we all have that album we love from that time period that doesn't hold up to fresher ears. Hey, maybe we are wrong and it's great. It was fun to listen to for sure.
