We've flirted with the Vanilla Ice nu-metal project before, but we finally take it to bed as thanks to Rod, we get to review this re-imagining of Ice's seminal #1 hit, "Ice Ice Baby". We dig into Ross Robinson's weird connection here (and seemingly awful production), the wisdom behind remaking your own #1 hit from nearly a decade prior, and as always, the quotes around the making of this song and album are truly bizarre. Too Cold, Too Cold.

I just saw Vanilla Ice 3 weeks ago on the I Love The 90s tour. His set was so bizarre. He played one verse of play that funky music. He rapped the verse he had in the bloodhound gang song. He played a weird medley of Ninja Rap and then he "closed" with Ice Ice Baby with 40 minutes left in his set and THEN proceeded to stand at the DJ booth and play random songs and just sing along. Finally, he officially closed with fucking No Woman No Cry by Bob Marley. It was surreal.

I’m a 90s kid from southern Ontario. The first association that comes to mind when I hear Vanilla Ice is Paul Bernardo, who idolized him and would recorded himself dancing and lip synching to his music. It’s a weird link and despite his many missteps, probably slightly unfair to Vanilla Ice. lol

Oh man I also grew up in Southern Ontario but did not know this fact at all. Somehow the most chilling thing about Paul Bernardo
