Episode 48: P.O.D. Articles (Patreon)

Not a ton of articles to choose from this episode, but my goodness, the articles we did find are truly something special. Please enjoy the ridiculous number of words this guy wrote about P.O.D.'s Christianity. I'm linking two here, but if you go to the bottom of each article, there are another 2-3 articles on other aspects of their faith he digs into. Insane!

MTV [dot] com: "Best of '99: Rock Apostles P.O.D. Play Hard, Holy on Major-Label Debut" (September 3, 1999)

The POD boys get going on their "Christian ministry in the media" tip early, as they discuss proselytizing to other bands, their audience, and Sonny talks about meeting the other guys in the band as they were telling drunk people at parties about God.

Dial-the-Truth Ministries: "P.O.D. and the Works of Darkness" (c. 2001)

The one where Dr. Terry Watkins, Th.D., tells of P.O.D. relations to dastardly things like Marilyn Manson, Calvin Klein underwear, and the Blair Witch 2 soundtrack.

Dial-the-Truth Ministries: "P.O.D.'s Confusing Christianity" (c. 2001)

Terry Watkins is back answering your burning questions about P.O.D., such as "do they even believe in Hell?" and "Wuv or Jesus?"

Cross Rhythms: "P.O.D.: Artwork Controversy" (December 17th, 2003)

P.O.D. catch some heat for Christian bookstores over their artwork, causing them to release multiple versions of "clean" artwork despite also telling Christian bookstores to stop selling their music. Which is it, POD????

There you have it. Must be exhausting to be P.O.D. I know I'm exhausted. Thanks for listening.

Take care,
John and Bryan
