I am taking a short break and going out the back of beyond or 'up woop woop' as the Australians say. This will be my last Landscape shoot before the winter sets in here in Melbourne. Internet may be slow or non-existent so you may have to wait for a response until I get back next weekend (16th or 17th April). I will attempt to answer as many questions as I can if my smartphone gets a signal while I am away.

Enjoy the well deserved break, Mark. Will you have any company other than those lenses?

Weather is look decidedly cloudy but I have my fingers crossed for a break in the clouds.

I don't really do vacations - they are really photo shoots. But as they say a change of scenery is as good as a rest.

Hey Mark, well deserved break after rapid fire Sony product release in short period of time. I am not sure this is the right way to post my question at , being a newbie. Here is the puzzle I am facing: However, I am challenged when uploading RAW images shot in A1 camera to MAC Photos. They are all blank, I have had no problem whatsoever with RAW images from A7Riv loaded into MAC Photos. Tried both CFexpress A and SD memory cards, neither works. I have hundreds of thousand photos stored in iCloud and am very reluctant to switch to a different platform, like Imaging Edge Desktop. Any words of wisdom?

My break was actually a location shoot 3-hours drive from Melbourne so I took the opportunity to travel with my wife and my dog and stay over a few days so I maximised the opportunity to have the perfect weather conditions. As the Alpha One camera is brand new it takes several companies a while to catch up with reading these Raw files. Imaging Edge, Capture One and Lightroom are now reading these files - other systems will be hit and miss. Sony's new Lossless Compression Raw file format may also present a few problems for software that have not been updated to read this new Raw file format (Lightroom is OK with this lossless Compression Raw file format). A couple of options may resolve your immediate problems. Downloading a 30-day trial of Lightroom or using Adobe's free DNG converter software that can make the Raw files of the A1 backwards compatible.
