Sony envisage that many photographers who currently own one of their APS-C cameras (A6000 to A6600) could, at some time in the future, upgrade to a Full-Frame camera that has a similar form factor to their APS-C cameras (the A7C is just 6 grams heavier than the A6600 APS-C camera). With the release of several very small lenses (the new kit zoom and three tiny primes - FE 24mm 2.8 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 50mm F2.5 G) it is possible to work from a very small messenger bag.

The A7C eBook provides suggestions for a full range of full frame lenses that don't look out of place on such a small camera body + a range of lightweight accessories: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yii34k46f2qli8z/A7C-eBook-July22.pdf?dl=0

One important question that many of APS-C owners will ask themselves is does the A7C offer significantly better performance over a camera such as the A6400 or A6600.

Perhaps one of the best ways to determine this (other than taking the word of a camera reviewer) is to look at some files captured by an A7C. With this in mind I am making 25 Raw files in the DNG format + two JPEGs available for Patrons to download and view in Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic. The files will open in their edited state - you may want to create a 'Snapshot' or 'Version' prior to hitting the Reset button. With images captured in high contrast ambient light you may see the shadows are very dark in their unedited state. Optimum exposure is dictated by an attempt to preserve detail in the brightest highlights with the intent to recover shadows in post production editing. One of the main advantage to using full-frame sensors is their one stop dynamic range advantage that results in slightly cleaner shadows (less noise). One of the two JPEGs was captured at ISO 10,000 with in-camera noise reduction applied.

My One-hour A7C review can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/X6N1XDs3jyo

The files I have made available were captured with a range of lenses, including four images captured with the new FE 28-60mm kit lens. Other lenses used include the FE 14mm F1.8 GM,  FE 20mm F1.8 G, FE 24mm F2.8 G, FE 35mm F1.4 GM, FE 50mm F2.5 G, FE 85 F1.8 and FE 135 F1.8 GM.

I have tagged this post with 'A7C & APS-C Forum' and 'A7C+APS-C' to help users who are specifically interested in Sony's cameras and lenses with a smaller form factor.
