I own both the Sony FE 135mm F1.8 GM and Zeiss Batis 135 F2.8 Lenses. I have a soft spot for the 135mm focal length and also use my Sony 85mm F1.8 on the APS-C cameras to achieve this same narrow angle of view and background blur (bokeh).
The main reason for owning the Batis 135 F2.8 (given the FE 135 GM lens is one of the sharpest and fastest focusing lenses on the planet) is its size and weight (or lack of).
It feels more at home on my A7C full frame compact camera and helps to keep the messenger bag light if working with multiple lenses in my Pilot 7L bag.
It's a sharp fast focusing lens (although not quite as sharp and fast focusing as the GM). It handles shooting into the light really well (something I value when shooting backlit portraits at full sun events) and is equiped with SteadyShot (although Zeiss don't make a song and dance about advertising this fact). The only thing I miss on this lens is the lack of a focus hold button that I can use as a recall Custom Hold button.

I am sharing these Raw files (in the DNG file format) so you can see how this lens stacks up on your own large high resolution monitors. I discard the ARW files after I have converted my hero files to the DNG file format. I use the DNG file format as the editing information is embedded within the file (rather than using a sidecar file) and the DNG file also contains my embedded copyright data (I don't like sharing Raw files without embedded copyright info as this has led to copyright disputes on two occasions). If you import the files into Lightroom they should load in their edited state. You may want to hit the Reset button to see how the files appear in their unedited state or take a look at how the files have been edited.
