Samyang 75mm F1.8 (Patreon)
Content
In the 'My Lens Choice 2 2023' Seminar for Patrons I highlighted a short full-frame telephoto lens that was even lighter and smaller than the Sigma 90mm F2.8 (which in turn is smaller and lighter than Sony's FE 85mm F1.8 Lens).
This morning I used this lens on a location shoot (The ANZAC day march in Melbourne) so Patrons could evaluate the results.

Most of these images are captured with the aperture wide open so you can evaluate the bokeh and sharpness at its widest aperture. Image sharpness would inevitably increase by stopping down one or more stops.
My verdict is that it is not quite as sharp wide open as the Sony or Sigma offering (sometimes this only realised by zooming in), but if a cheap and really small/lightweight lens is your priority then this may be of interest to you. The lens is just 8.11 oz or 230 g and is part of Samyang's 'Tiny' series.
