This is a short seminar to outline how I will now sometimes change to shooting with a 16:9 aspect ratio as part of PAL workflow.

For Raw shooters, the 16:9 in-camera crop is 'non-destructive' (pixels are hidden from view rather than deleted), but it does allow me to 'previsualize' and compose the image for an aspect ratio that matches my 16:9 screen output.

My recent CAMSETs for the A7CII, A7CR and A6700 all include Aspect Ratio in the Fn menu, but the Memory Recall (1, 2 and 3) still default to the 3:2 aspect ratio. Changing the Aspect Ratio will be a decision that I make after first recalling the memory, in much the same way as I will often fine-tune focus area and/or ISO Auto Min SS after recalling a memory.
