Warning Update: Samyang Focus issues (Patreon)

Samyang have posted an update on their website to alert Samyang Lens users for the need to update the firmware for owners of late model Alpha cameras (because of AF-C incompatibility with their lenses). The firmware update will require a Samyang lens station to update the firmware.

Compatibility Issue Camera Models

•α7CII (ILCE-7CM2)

•α7CR (ILCE-7CR)

•α6700 (ILCE-6700)

•FX6 (ILME-FX6V)

I have previously showcased a couple of lenses from Samyang's Tiny series of lenses when choosing an A7C camera. The 18mm and 75mm offer shorter and longer focal length options to supplement Sony's compact prime range (FE 24, 40 and 50 G lenses).
I have, however, just noticed these lenses have trouble focusing when used with the A6700, A7CII and A7CR cameras in AF-C. The focus rapidly hunts when using the AF-C focus mode and has great difficulty tracking a subject. They work just fine on my A1 and A7C
