A9III Continuous Shoot Speed Burst (Patreon)
Content
With less than 2 seconds of buffer at 120fps you have to time your burst to include the beginning and end of the action. The ability to use the Pre Capture function of the A9III to capture a second before you press the shutter release ensures you always capture the decisive moment. For longer sequences of action it is advisable to lower the frame rate to 60 or 30 fps.
I have also released a video that uses the 30fps in Hi rather than Hi+ drive mode.

All of this performance, however, comes at a little cost to high ISO noise and dynamic range. I think the camera still has enough of both to staidly most sports photographers but you have to have a good reason to own this highly specialised landmark camera.
dpreview have done some initial tests that put the high ISO performance and dynamic range closer to an APS-C camera rather than its full-frame stablemates.
