Being someone who doesn’t know how to tie a shoe, I can relate to SpongeBob here. I know, grown man that doesn’t tie shoes. I usually wear slip ons because of that. Also this is Painty’s first appearance outside of the intro.

I actually replaced all my laces with xpand lace-free shoes because I got sick of tying them 😄 I even installed them for my clients also on the spectrum. They work great as I've tested 2 mountain marathons with them and run them fine 🙂 Lots of good lace-free options out there if you decide to try joggers

when i was a little kid i had a best-of dvd of the best episodes from the early seasons, which was what initially got me into SpongeBob, and this episode always stuck out to me as one of my favorites. i have dyspraxia which makes it difficult for me to do fine-motor tasks like tying laces, and i was stubbornly wearing velcro shoes until i couldn't find a large enough size for me anymore. weirdly enough, this episode made me feel seen in a way, and it helped teach kid me not to overreact to little things like struggling to tie shoelaces. i adore this episode both due to nostalgia and because of how well it's held up comedically. one of my favorites overall :)
