I worked at a call center in the mid-90s in Vermont. I’d get $5.50/hr for English and $8.50 for Spanish. My Spanish was just okay, but I fooled the bosses because my pronunciation was really good and this was Vermont. I had to ask people if they did any fishing. Most said no and that was that, but if they said yes I’d have to flip through this big book which was the translation of the questions on the screen. It was too confusing, so I’d just tell them I’d call them back later.

This is out of left field and maybe a little out of bounds, but Chris can would it be possible to get some tales from the NEAS days? Nothing in my life has ever made me laugh harder than that show and I would love a little chat about it. If not no biggy it’s certainly something in the past. But it’s a legendary show.

Bryan is genuinely correct about the cover band thing, I have a lot of friends who tour with their own bands and they have all said many times the only way to make money without being famous is to be a cover band. Specifically the ones like Smells Like Nirvana or like Yellow Dubmarine who are considered like THE guys to see if you like Nirvana or the Beatles. Those are extremely lucrative touring acts
