Another one for all-patrons! Alorth seems to have developed somewhat of a fascination with *cough*Gracie*cough*... not that I can blame him. She's very cute/photogenic. Anyway... to those who are thinking right now, "fuck the wallpaper, I want the update!" - just know we hear you, and it's coming. Without going too deep into specifics, I can confirm we're pretty much almost done with it/you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the support guys, love ye all! Going straight back to work.

I must Say this... It Better be the best chapter 2 ever created

Pax

Chapter 1 was Outstanding - a great start to Radiant. I'm hoping that Chapter 2 will be as good or better. I anticipate that this will be one of my favorite updates for September.

RK Studios

lol that is setting a pretty high standard. You know what they say, "expectations placed low enough are rarely disappointed."

Mark Clegg

No idea how you would even start to better chapter one you guys have set your bar ridiculously high , being hyper critical, perhaps you could say it wasn't that long, but that's real nitpicking.

RK Studios

True, Mark! I guess we will find out if I'm capable of topping chapter one... though I actually think that's the wrong way to look at it personally. What I mean by this, I'll try to summarize as best I can: Chapter 1 was by all accounts a whirlwind introduction to the story. We moved through many years, covering both the past, the present, then followed up with a blast from the future/a glimpse at all that the future holds. It had ups, downs, and very little room for any stasis. Chapter 2 on the other hand is much different in structure. The fast paced nature of the first is walked back a bit, and we instead get more of a slice of life/a strong look at what the MCs life is like in current day/a chance to experience everything he's currently going through, rather than what he's been through. In that regard, both chapters are nothing alike, and therefore comparing the two is a bit of a mistake. I think in this specific instance, what will make the biggest difference/the charm of the second chapter comes with the contrast.

Mark Clegg

The funny thing was I was going to mention jumping time periods, any time that's done in a story, at least effectively, it's a real balancing act, obviously it takes up narrative time, so you are faced with either rushing it, thus making it meaningless or putting a level of substance on it and in this stories case there was also the need to get across something of the chaotic nature of the MC memories. For me you nailed it in both respects.

Mark Clegg

................to continue.... In terms of Chapter 2 I'm sure the MC will be grateful that you are done...at least for the time-being with Naked Road traffic accidents!

RK Studios

Thanks man, yeah, it's not easy to do time skips like that in storytelling, but it panned out really well this time. Now I'll just have to see if I'm also able to nail the daily/slice of life aspects of the story just as well. In my opinion, maybe just because I'm impatient... this for me is harder. But I think I was able to capture the same essence in this chapter that we had in the previous. That said, I'm confident in my abilities so you need not worry... of course, I'm also trying to improve my skills as a storyteller, not just put out something of the standard quality, so I'm taking some risks creatively.

Mark Clegg

Well they say that about musicians if you want to be successful, release tracks that are like your last success. To be great, don't

Nathan Allison

Will we perhaps see a September release of the next chapter?

Nathan Allison

Thanks for the reply, keep up the great work!
