Radiant: Chapter 2 - v0.2.1 Full (Patreon)

V0.2.1 UPDATE:

First and foremost: if you've already played Chapter 2... then v0.2.1 is not a mandatory update. Only download if you're interested in the one additional scene, which is recommended for players on the "Dark Path," especially for Maddison.

Changelog (v0.2.1):

• Adds an additional scene in CH2 to the "Dark Path"

• Adds 25 new renders and 1 new animation (Maddie Dark Path)

• Heads up: This new scene is only about 6 minutes long

• Adds "Named Saves" - you can now add a description to your save files. If you do not want to name saves: simply untick "Save Descriptions" in the 'Options' menu.

• Fixes 99.9% of bugs- we spotted one at the last minute that we'll fix in the next update

I liked this but we have the triplets, the new employee, the waitress, the mother, the model, and likely the office assistant woman all as potential characters. Thats some huge scope creep that probably hurt the development time. I'd way, way rather focus on the triplets and have extra characters added in over time as a way to develop their relationships with the MC. The model as a way to corrupt Allison? Super interesting. But as a whole distinct relationship story to follow? The waitress? Why? Not what brought me to this game. I really hope chapter 3 focuses on the triplets. Thats just me though.

Just finished .2 (I started over for fun's sake) and I am SO ENGAGED with this story. RKS, I love your other game too, but Radiant is AMAZING! I said the same thing when you release .1, so here I am telling you yet again that the story is awesome and that I am so happy that you're producing this wonderful VN. Just don't forget about Polarity! That cliffhanger you left us on made me want to cry.

Keep in mind also, however, that we're still very early into the game and Chapter 2 is very much still an introduction into the story, meaning there will be a lot of exposition and a lot of characters who need to be introduced/new. That of course doesn't mean that every single character will need to be featured in each chapter. Radiant is written as a living, breathing world where every girl plays a role: even if behind the scenes/not directly related to the main character's life. Radiant is at minimum 20 chapters long, so there's going to be a LOT of characters, a LOT to do, and a LOT of different paths and arcs.... but there's also a core/central plot that involves the three main girls that will be the primary focus throughout the vast majority of this game. One thing I always do when creating a game is make sure the main girls are consistently given the same amount of screen time, if not more, every chapter.

Very nice chapter. Natalie has some weird language phrases thrown in het park encounter with the MC though... what does "Tsey hladkyy rozmovlyayuchyy hadyuk" mean? :)

This is actually just transliteration. What the character would "hear" if someone was speaking a foreign language that he does not understand.

After that interaction with Maddie the scene unlocks later in the game. When you return home from the photoshoot with Allison, Olivia will ask you to check on Maddie. That's when the scene happens.

jjh, the update simply isn't ready yet. We'll post it here the very minute it's ready (as we always do). Please do not repeatedly ask about it (this is your 4th comment)... as doing so will not make it come any faster. If you have a genuine or specific inquiry, you're welcome to send a private message and I'll give you a brief update on our progress as soon as I have the time... but we kinda don't like discussing or giving "estimated release dates."

I noticed the complaint in the patron goal about them losing 400 subs last month. After realizing updates take 6-8 months it's no wonder. This is one of those situations it's best to sub when a new chapter is out and then unsub after downloading it and check back in every 6 months. Most people are not rich enough to basically pay $5 or more a month with possibly nothing to show for it (when the release cycle gets over 3-4 months long the chance for abandonware becomes more and more likely, and now it's already 2x that). Most of the AVN Patreons I've never canceled subs from have monthly updates or at least a progress report if it takes 2-3 months. Granted what is released so far here up to Chap 3 is top-notch quality (only thing missing is main character voice overs ), but if something isn't done to speed up releases to at least down to 2-3 months (even if it includes making the chapters smaller with 1hr playtime per monthly release but more chapters for the final version) this is headed for yet another entry in the annals of Patreon abandonware, which would be a crying shame (worse than when your favorite TV show is canceled after a season finale cliffhanger).
