My parents popped this in when I was 12 and I didn’t know what to expect. I watched all types of horror from Freddy to Jason to Chucky, so I knew gore and violence. But that opening with the stabbing the guy in the trunk with a kitchen knife (and how Joe Pesci acted) made me tear up in horror. My parents nearly stopped the movie. Holy shit it was brutal.

Henry Hill was kicked out of Witness Protection program in 87. He became a clout goblin and would pretty much do any media interview he could... He'd regularly show up drunk to interviews on The Howard Stern show, where he became a recurring "character" and a mockery of himself, for like 2 decades. There's interviews all over youtube.

So fun fact (That I might have already said in a Sopranos reaction comment section). Lorraine Bracco was originally offered the role of Carmela in The Sopranos but she turned it down because she thought it would be too similar to her role in this film but David Chase really wanted her in the show so he gave her the Dr Melfi role. Also, Karen's mother in this movie is the same actress as Carmela's mother in The Sopranos (you met her in 2x1). Which is probably intentional because Lorraine Bracco was the original choice for Carmela.
