As others have stated, there is some major conflicted errors between your website and the authentication process for Patreon. It immediately errors out with a 404 message whenever we try to Refresh or click "Unlock with Patreon" on the Normies website. This is happening on every single browser, with caches cleared.

Would you rather her try to do a subpar impersonation of Mayumi Tanaka? Because if she did people would hate it even more. Mayumi is impossible to duplicate or replace so I'm glad Colleen didn't try to do something unnatural. Instead of trying to copy Mayumi's tone and mannerisms she instead focused on capturing Luffy's personality. And imo she does a pretty good job. Not as good as Mayumi, shit nobody could play Luffy like Mayumi and I pray she makes it to the end, but I have heard far far worse performances than Colleen's. It helps that the rest of the main cast is so dang good. Which makes sense since Oda approved each one himself. There's even one character, who I will not name due to spoilers, whos dub voice I strongly prefer. I got used to the sub voice eventually but dub fits better imo, especially recently.

I can get that. While the rest of the crew fits their characters extremely well Luffy's english VA can't match Mayumi Tanaka. But in all fairness, NOBODY could match Mayumi Tanaka. It's not even a sub vs dub thing. If any other japanese VA took over Luffy the performance would automatically lose 40% of of what makes it special. Colleen Clinkenbeard may not be able to match the OG's voice or mannerisms but she does at least show an understanding of who Luffy is as a character. Maybe I'm biased due to being a mostly dub watcher but I still think she gives a damn fine performance. She's not bad, the OG is just that good.

That’s wonderful to hear, the sub has an incredible cast of VAs who have been acting since the 1970s-80s. They are incredible at what they do and unfortunately a few have passed while One Piece has continued and their last performances have been this show, I like to think watching the sub honors their memory and what a fantastic job they did.

i had a look at the patreon developers forum and there's a few users also complaining about oauth2 redirecting to the 404 page. Seems like a wider issue.

I totally get that and it should be fine at least until after Skypiea anyways. But suffering through 118 eps of Dressrosa will make them BEG for the pace cut, I just know it 😭

It's better in every single aspect of the show. It follows the manga more closely, removes all the unnecessary repeat shots that pad time, removes filler. All round superior.

Also using official sources is safer than fan edited content for reactions, because fan edits often don’t have permission from the original copyright holder. That’s why using One Pace can be legally risky.

It's all reaction links not just this one. If you try to refresh it errors, if you try to go to your membership it just kicks back to patreon home page or errors depending on which button you use. Possible it's an issue on the patreon side of things but I haven't noticed any issues on other patreon creators.

Ok I think the patreon issue is not on the normies, Because I just went to blind waves website (I'm not patreon subbed but just wanted to see if clicking their log in with patreon also gave me a 404) And It did there as well, on computer, all browsers, incognito, and both of my phone browsers as well. Found a way to fix the 404, when your on the 404 page go to your URL and it will start like this "https://www.patreon.com/oauth2/become-patronresponse_type" change this to "https://www.patreon.com/oauth2/become-patron?response_type" with the ?, then go further in the url and find the first case of "&redirect_uri=https:/thenormies.com" to "&redirect_uri=https://thenormies.com" with 2 slashes, then it will work. I just wanna warn. For some of you deciding if this is for you or not , the beginning is kinda slow and dated, but please understand the author is so good that not a single moment is wasted. There are things in these early episodes that are deliberately placed that speaks worlds about the characters.

#SundayRundown - OH - btw PLEASE find a way to avoid the titles, I'm begging you. They're not too bad at the start (still some spoilers here and there mind you), but later on they will become the most spoilery dogshit titles you've ever laid eyes on, like some of them are legit experience ruining lol, like fucking DBZ titles "Frieza Defeated! Namek Explodes!" type shit (guess it's just a Toei thing? Since they did/do both? Bastards). So PLEASE - look into a way to do that and avoid them, thanks.

I highly suggest watching One Pace. It fixes a lot of the pacing in this especially in the early episodes. But also I'm surprised you guys didn't wait for the re animation that Wit Studio and Netflix are going to do.

Maybe it's because I grew up with anime like this I never have a problem with it. I love rewatching the series and seeing the progression of animation. One Piece is like a perfect time capsule documenting the evolution of anime animation. Like you can see different eras in each arc.

Will you guys consider One Pace later when you reach the point where episodes start adapting less manga chapters per episode and feel slower? The later episodes stretch out content so One Pace is a fan-edit that makes the anime's pacing match the manga so at any point if you feel like the anime is too slow then just know that this is an option.

Even though they’re watching the show in sub unlike Naruto and Bleach, I can be satisfied with the fact that Navi and Marketa watched Film Z and Strong World in dub on their own which means by a technically, all of the Big 3 have been watched in dub by Normies at some point and Blind Wave is filling in the dub quota in One Piece for me. At least you’re not reacting to the dreaded 4kids English dub (the bad one) which would be a FATAL MISTAKE! I’ll probably provide clips of what I considered the worst English dub of all time at some point. As for now, WE ARE on the cruise to greatness.

Not everyone can through a variety of reasons, I find it difficult due to the medication I take due to my disability, I also feel more able to engage with it and pay attention to what’s going on, so I can’t use sub, I also adore the dub VA

I see a lot of people suggesting one pace and while I didn’t watch it that way I do think it might be smart to do one pace. I’ve heard it’s great and doesn’t cut anything that’s important. I’m pretty sure the goal of one pace is to be as manga accurate as possible

Yep I watched the original and just heard from the OP community that One Pace is so much better since TOEI had to add extra unnecessary things since the anime caught up to the manga. But I also heard since One Pace is meant to be close to the manga some of the fights later on does skip some cool fight scenes that TOEI added.

One Pace honestly feels more like a treat for rewatchers than for first-time viewers. Early on it can be kinda awkward, you’ve got scenes jumping around, old animation spliced with newer stuff, and sometimes the music or sound just cuts off like someone yanked the aux cord mid-song. It doesn’t always have that nice smooth flow. That being said, huge respect to the team, they’ve put in ton of work, and you can see them improving as it goes. Each arc feels different, sometimes great, sometimes less so. Occasionally they cut out cool additions from the anime, like extended fight moments or bits of humor. Personally I wish they kept those and just chopped out the repetitive moments, but I get the idea is to stay faithful to manga. For now the OG anime is not bad at all- I’m not losing sleep over it. I would leave the One Pace debates until much later in the story … you know, when we hit the final boss of dragging like Dressrosa 🥲

The issue with One Pace is that they started with the arcs that needed the most work so the ones that actually need the cut are the least professional. They've got at least a year and change before they get to any arcs that really benefit from One Pace anyway.

To be honest, the pacing for the first arcs in the original Anime is ok, so they a have a couple of years before it starts to get really bad. I don't think that they really know how bad the pacing gets, once you reached episodes 300's. but i agree that one pace is the way to go for present Arcs, i hope that in the future they can switch. because at least for me, the state of the original anime in the current arcs is not good at all.

This is genuinely the dumbest myth in anime. The start of One Piece is great. The first 4 was fire, Baratie was great, Arlong Park even better, Loguetown was fun, Chopper's arc was emotional, Alabasta was gas, Jaya was great, Skypeia was interesting. Youre just simply flat out wrong, unless youre just hating, which would be great to PS that so I dont need to reply.
