Oh snap..Brooklyn 99 is great

Ah so this was the poll winner. Well, it's long but there are definitely some good seasons, although IMO it falls off at the end, but most long shows do.

You're going to be caught up with IASIP in the not too distant future. The runner-up to Brooklyn 99 was Modern Family. That's 250 episodes so basically 5 years. B99 is going to be the next 3 years. I think it would be cool if you did a replacement poll for IASIP with shows that only had 30 episodes or less. Then the top 3 are the next three shows you react to. I know that might be an unpopular suggestion. There's just so many brief shows that have fairly strong but not massive followings. I don't want to alienate someone who likes other shows & I understand why they want to see them. This is the only conceivable way that I can think of for something like Derry Girls or The IT Crowd to make it to the channel.

Just for reference, the first season of the office was mainly criticized for being too similar to the uk office. Not that it was bad in the same way other first seasons of sitcoms can be. It’s one of the most acclaimed and influential sitcoms of all time and influenced shows (beyond the us office obviously) that you wouldn’t really suspect like it’s always sunny and fleabag. As for this show. I think it’s a good sitcom. It is more of a traditional standard sitcom though. Like in terms of the cadence and energy of the jokes and how vibrant it feels. It starts off strong but i remember less key monents about it compared to the office. That being said i only watched like the first couple of seasons so i dont know how the later seasons stack up.

#SundayRundown Suraj is right this is a very strong pilot. They do a great job of establishing interpersonal dynamics without skimping on the jokes. It's no small feat wrangling an ensemble of this size & making everyone feel relevant to what's happening in an organic way.

Wow, I didn't even know this was coming out today, totally awesome!

#SundayRundown In the words of Eric from BlindWave, you've now seen the worst episode of B99. It's all uphill from here! That may be a little hyperbolic, but the characters really settle in after a few episodes and you start seeing their dynamics a little better. Tons of inside jokes, running themes, and the best cold opens I've seen in sitcom history! And cameos! Partly due to Andy Samberg's time at SNL, there are a lot of people who show up for one-off or recurring roles. Watching Bindwave's reaction to B99 was a weekly highlight for me. I've never seen Rick laugh as hard and I'm looking forward to you guys enjoying youselves just as much!

i am very happy you're watching this.

Love this show. If I remember correctly, there are a bunch of references to the show, Homicide: Life on the Street. It was a cop show from the 90s that Andre Braugher starred in (based on David Simon's first book). If you get a chance, you should watch at least the first two seasons of the show. Actually, the whole show is good, but it became a pretty straightforward cop show during season 3 (out of 7 seasons and a movie), but the first two seasons are short (9 episodes and 4 episodes) so it might make for a good watch. Plus, you get to see a lot of stuff that ends up getting reused in The Wire (you won't believe who plays their version of Omar Little).

So glad you guys are doing this show

Can I get a NINE NINE?!
