Not a fan of making Fjord more cowardly in the show as a storyline. I get needing to change some elements from the live stream, but Fjord was never characterized as a coward or being the buttend of the joke. Don't get me wrong, there were jokes over Fjord's strengths and his roles did make him eat shit sometimes, but he was never a coward. IDK, maybe I'll like it when they flesh it out

Idk what you're even talking about. Fjord being called a coward doesn't mean he actually is one, he's been nothing but brave this whole time (and he's definitely not "the butt of the joke", he gets clowned just as much as Caleb does). Being fearful is not being cowardly, just because he's afraid a lot doesn't make him a coward when he is actively going against said fears.

I understand what you’re saying. I just felt that in the live stream fjord was presented far more confident at first and present more competent. I remember him being a charmer that wooed a sailor to let them ride of a boat to the swamp and was more of a confident talker than in the show. I guess I’m just worried they will make less charismatic in this show. I still love those scenes of him being brave I just don’t think they need to do that storyline of him being frightful to a brave guy since I remember his storyline being more about his control, his identity and the issues with masculinity. I just think the former to be too simplistic

Hey Chris, please tell Laura Bailey in person the Jester is the healer and film it. Thx

It is also episode 4 of an undoubtably multi-season series and our main characters are only now becoming a group. Not much has gone on for them yet

#Sundayrundown Mighty Nien! D&D (and pathfinder) LORE!! Spell Components 🪄: As we know, most casters like Scanlan, Keyleth, Alura, Pike, etc. can cast magic without anything. So what’s the deal with Caleb? 🤔 Well! They actually all DO need something! A “magical focus” 🔮 Scanlan can’t cast magic without music 🎸 Pike borrows power directly from her god in return for living and devoting herself to her God’s wishes. 🙏 📿 Keyleth is a Druid. She has a magic staff! She uses it to cast sometimes but mostly her strength comes from her connection to the natural world. 🌎 But Caleb is specifically a WIZARD. 🧙‍♂️ There’s nothing special about Caleb that gives him power. He just learned how to manipulate the world using specific mundane mediums and rituals to create spells like he was learning very complicated magical calculus. In dnd these are called “spell components” There’s 3 kinds: There’s Verbal 👄 , Somatic (hand signs) 🤚, and Material components. Not all spells need all three but if it needs materials, it needs a VERY specific thing for you to pull magic through to make the spell work. If you don’t have it, you’re shit outta luck. There are small spells called “Cantrips” that don’t need materials. We see him use one to light the torch to burn the body.

I don’t get this comment because so far out of the whole group, Fjord has been shown as the strongest and most badass.

DnD frog lore! 🐸 I think the devil toad was what’s called a “Yugoloth” Specifically a “Hydroloth” of the Yugoloth species! Yugoloths are One of the three major types of evil fiends: Devils, Demons, and Yugoloths We’ve seen demons in Vox Machina. Normally they live in “the abyss” not the hells, but I think they changed that for copyright. They all fight in a world ending war of attrition called “the blood war” trying to take over the other’s home planes. Demons want to take the Devil’s home, Devils want the Demon’s, and Yugoloths sell their services to whoever pays them better. Yugoloths are fascinating and I haven’t seen them used much

I don’t think Mollys memories of the rift came from the devil road since nothing really points to him learning anything about the toad; I think Molly went through something similar to the consecution the Kryn Dynasty do. I don’t think he was resurrected through the Beacon, but I think the things that he “doesn’t know” come from something he doesn’t or can’t really remember. Even last episode they bring a lot of attention to Molly’s tattoos being the peacock and snake representing “rebirth” and clashing as violent enemies when the two meet, they bring attention to all the red eye tattoos which we know now from last episode open when he’s in danger or wounded. Mollys got a lot more going on me thinks
