As bad as Batman & Robin is, the one line that I feel encapsulates Bruce is Alfred’s “for what is Batman if not an effort to master the chaos that sweeps this world? An attempt to control death itself?” To me that line strikes at the core of Batman. Bruce was a scared child whose entire world was changed after seeing his parents murdered right in front of him. Batman is an attempt to harness all of that trauma and turn it into a weapon to become the hero that he needed when he was 8. To me, Batman is an attempt to go beyond his limitations to become a perfect weapon of control. Control of his limitations. Control of his emotions. Control over death. This is why I prefer Batman being more obsessive about his “no kill rule” more than Superman is traditionally thought to be. For Batman, not killing isn’t just a moral stance. It’s a psychological standard. It’s a sign that he is operating to the best of his ability. If Batman has to resort to killing then he failed. He wasn’t The Batman. Just a man in a bat suit. It’s similar to Bruce quitting in the DCAU because he had to resort to a gun. Batman Beyond nailed it. If Bruce had to resort to the weapon that took his parents away from him then he was no longer fit to be Batman. To me, the everlasting spirit to go beyond is Batman.

Way later Nightwing actually gets a red and black suit that was inspired by this Robin costume Oh my god, Mr Freeze being in that box reminded me of boxed Maul in the Siege of Mandalore 😂 “I thought he doesn’t kill” Oh you gotta do the first two after finshing the bad movies Ivy doesn’t always have super plant powers. Early on and in some iterations she’s just a lady with poison lipstick, mind control/seduction pheromones, modified or made up monster plants, bio weapons. Maybe she’ll have an immunity to toxins There’s a sequel to the Batman 89 comic that has Scarecrow modeled after Jeff Goldblum. And Harley Quinn after Madonna

I have to disagree with Navi on one thing: the modern Batman voice is awful. That forced, raspy deep voice just isn’t Batman to me. Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman—always will be—and nothing in the newer movies comes close. And Bane gets defeated a ton in the old TV shows and Comics by having his Venom Supply cut off it's not new to this movie and I hate the Dark Knight Rises version that's the most inaccurate version of Bane we've ever had.

#SundayRundown Anddd this was not only the last time we had a Dick Grayson or Robin in a DC live action movie.. but it’s the last and only time we would have any sort of Bat Family on screen. The next time would be when the DCU releases their movie about Batman & Damian along with that other members but that doesn’t have a release date. Almost 30 years!!

While Clooney was NOT a good Batman (; he's admitted that Mr 6 times😆), however ,he WAS a GREAT Bruce Wayne imo. II've always felt that way. I've seen the 60s Batman series, that's why I guess I was able to accept this movie for what it was a little easier. I do love the cast, you can tell everyone was just having fun. And Serg ( Forgive if I spelled your name wrong🙏🏾) but you said something I never realized, and you're right. This IS the only Bruce Wayne I've seen that has shown this kind of emotion and focus on Alfred. George really shines in those scenes. You guys are so funny and awesome 👍🏾🔥

This is a movie that has really cooled for me over the years. When I was a kid, the amount of characters/big actors in this was really chill. Usually, watching this movie is like watching my childhood frozen in time, but watching it with you guys this time, it just left me really cold. Yes, Clooney is bad as Batman, but that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems of this movie. Also, THE ICE AGE!

Besides Batman Returns, I think I watched this movie the most as a kid, especially since I dressed up as this Batman for Halloween around that time, lol.

#sundayrundown George Clooney is clearly the worst Batman because he didn't even TRY. He had good scenes with Alfred, but that was it. When he and Robin hashed things out, he delivered his line "Friend, partner, brother" with the same feeling as me making a grocery list (Milk, bread, eggs). Ice skates in the boots. SMH. Batgirl, Poison Ivy and Bane all deserved better. They are all FAR more capable characters than the neutered versions depicted here. Barbara Pennyworth (not Gordon) with NO British accent?!? Pam Isley given the same origin as Catwoman (mousy worker gets killed by bad boss and is reborn as villainess)? Bane as a brain-dead henchman instead of one of Batman's most powerful foes? Okay. Sky surfing, folks. I agree with the couch- this was 45 minutes to an hour too long, but Arnold Schwartzenegger as Mr. Freeze was great, awful ice puns and all. They could have done this without Bane, Poison Ivy, Dr. Woodrue and whoever the hell Vivica A. Fox played (how was everyone else freezing and she was cheeks out in a bathing suit with no problems?). Sky surfing?!? I still see Catwoman as the worst so far because it was so bad Halle Berry couldn't save it. Batman Forever next, then Green Lantern and then this one. Why this one so high? Because it didn't try to be anything but campy and it succeeded. SKY SURFING! WHY?!?

#Sundayrundown fun fact this is John Glover (the guy who push Pamela ivy and made poison ivy) second out of four dc characters he played in. First her was the riddle in batman tas, this film, luthor dad in Smallville, and Doctor Sivana dad in shazam. Also his character in batman and robin is a real villain in the comics name The Floronic Man. Think of him as a villain swamp thing.

This movie is just so silly but its a great homage to the 60s Batman show which was Joel Schumacher favorite version of Batman. The kiddish cartoony vibe mixed with the adult humor was a staple of the 60s Batman comics and tv show.
