In 1908, Ingrid's (Madeleine Stowe) father, Bob Gray (Bill Skarsgård), performs as Pennywise until the entity, in the form of a child, lures him into the woods and kills him, assuming his identity. In the present, Bowers' (Peter Outerbridge) mob attack the Black Spot demanding Hank (Stephen Rider); when the customers refuse, the mob sets the building ablaze. Hallorann (Chris Chalk) manages to get Hank, Ronnie (Amanda Christine), and Will (Blake Cameron James) to safety, while Rich (Arian S. Cartaya) dies protecting Marge (Matilda Lawler), who survives unharmed. As the mob disperses, Ingrid arrives in her Periwinkle costume and witnesses Pennywise kill her husband, Stan, after feeding on the Black Spot's victims. When Ingrid realizes Pennywise is not her father, he shows the deadlights to her, leaving her catatonic. Marge and Ronnie tell a paranoid Lilly (Clara Stack), who is increasingly attached to the pillar, about Rich's death. Hallorann realizes Pennywise has entered hibernation and leads the military to one of the pillars, which they transport and incinerate, though Shaw (James Remar) secretly reveals to Leroy (Jovan Adepo) that he intends to release Pennywise and use his powers to control Americans. Meanwhile, Rose (Kimberly Guerrero) hides Hank, who is believed dead, but Pennywise reawakens, appears at Will's house, and shows him the deadlights.
