Grenade | Pluribus 1x3 | Group Reaction

Pat, Navi, Chris, Marketa and Spidey present their review and reaction to season 1 episode 3 of Pluribus, "Grenade," created by Vince Gilligan. In Episode 3, Carol ( ) returns from Spain after meeting with the other survivors. When she returns she's offered her mail including a gift from Helen ( ), which reminds her of a trip she went on to an ice hotel. Trying to get out for a bit, she discovers her local grocery story is abandoned and asks the hive mind to return it to how it was. At the end of the episode, they take her too literally and provide her with a hand grenade which she accidentally detonates believing it to be fake #pluribus #appletv #vincegilligan BECOME A Normies Premium or No Fomo MEMBER: Get 6 WEEKS AHEAD on most shows (excluding premier shows), exclusive movies and vote on what we watch: https://www.thenormies.com/ SEND US LETTERS/GIFTS: PO Box 785 Fishers, IN 46038 FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: linktr.ee/the_normies

#SundayRundown Pluribus reminds me of Lost. Every episode leads to a complex philosophical discussion. I could see the show having five seasons and each being better than the one before, which is on brand for every Vince Gilligan series since Breaking Bad. I also find it hilarious how Chris went full Carol Sturka at 13:43.

Carol: I am a very independent person. Also Carol: Bring me an entire grocery store.

Carol is definitely a Debbie Downer. She acted as if the world was ending long before it did. It's always interesting having a lead character that's at times genuinely unlikable. I think this show does a good job portraying the way different people would act in a similar situation, all the way from Lakshmi who's in complete denial, to Koumba who takes advantage of the situation by procuring a personal harem. My only gripe with the show so far is that we'll have to wait at least two years before the second season (which is my main gripe with modern television in general). Other than that, I enjoy the slow build, even though I understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea. Also, I definitely think I would've been stubborn enough to sit all the way back in the plane, though part of me would've also had the hive wait on me hand and foot.

"Would you...like an atom bomb?" is one of my favorite line reads. The look on his face and tilt of the head is perfect.

Also, I see Chris still thinks that it's the water that was infected. That simply doesn't make any sense based on what we've seen. In the first episode we saw several planes flying overhead with some kind of chemtrails behind them, then a few moments later everybody except Carol are infected. It wouldn't have happened simultaneously and at that exact moment if it was something in the water.

If i was Carol, i'd ask for the world's best therapist to talk about Helen's loss, whatever aspects of the takeover i'd trust the hivemind to talk about, and keep a lid on apparent anger issues. Also, I think i'd try to get someone else disconnected from the hivemind to ask that person questions about what it's like & see if they feel like rejoining of their own free-will.

I understand what Pat was saying at the end about the person pretending to be who they were before. It wouldn't be right but I understand what he meant. They wouldn't be the original person anymore but they would be reminding you of the exact person, cause of all the info they have about them. Like Pluribus said it's everyone all in one. So technically it is still the person being themselves.....just also a bunch of other folks lmao as Pat said bonus haha but no that's horrible

Super weird that everyone watches forgets that Carol blames the hivemind for killing the love of her life a few days ago. She's grieving the loss of her partner and also the whole world, basically.

I don't think you are "supposed" to like Carol. Shes the main character and you are supposed to see the world as she is seeing it. Doesn't mean she is pleasant. Carol's reluctance to embrace the cooking and the servitude of the infected is not just her trying to be independent. Its also her not wanting the world being reduced to slavery to make her happy. Of course she also is a woman of a certain privilege who also ends up making all these people restock a Sprouts just for her. So she has some contradictions.

13:43 hell yeah Chris! I'd be petty too to the hivemind that conquered humanity. I'm not making it easy for them.

I believe most people would feel salty if one lost their loved ones, almost a billion people in the world died, and inadvertently became one of the biggest mass killers in human history in less than a week. That's going to take A LOT of time to process.

Really enjoying the conversations on this between everyone

Navi channeling Jamiroquai from the late 90s 😉🤣😂… gotta love Navi
