Maybe they developed their relationship more in the Manga, but that scream for Sakiyo never worked for me. She doesn't really know him at all and what she does know should make any good person wretch. So huge L take from Kuwabaras sister.

To be fair, in the sub, Shizuru shouts "Sakyo-san" three times and that's it. The English dub is more dramatic.

Rana, remember that you guys saw a few secs of this ep's preview? You might've missed it, but there was a shot of the stadium from above, and Kuwabara was already standing with the others. That's why Chris was sure about his bet.

MrBulldog714

Oh, that could be it. The English dub is really dramatically I've never seen that scene in sub.

#SundayRundown #YuYuHakusho I mentioned this last time, but after the Final Getsuga Tenshou in "BLEACH", when Ichigo is telling Urahara his thoughts on Aizen's loneliness and possible desire to be beaten, I immediately thought back to the ending of the Dark Tournament and Toguro. Wouldn't surprise me if that's what Kubo was thinking of when he wrote that Ichigo dialogue. As for this episode, BOY I'd forgotten how many times people needed to be reminded of the situation they're in. Damn-near every single member of the cast got a moment to stand around, thumb-in-butt, until someone goes "Hey, remember how we're about to die?" 😂 I wonder if that's what it was like in the manga. Also, I was weirded out by Shizuru's thing for Sakio as well. Wish that could've been an actual subplot throughout the tournament. 🤷🏽‍♂️

#SunDayRunDown At the beginning of the tournament I made a comment that yall read, saying everyone should stop hyping up this tournament. It starts slow, it's an older show, and I could already tell you weren't all that into the show. I knew though, if expectations could be lowered yall would enjoy this legendary arc. ✌️

Denickart

They never even met in the manga.

SilentCilantro

fun fact: at the end of the dark tournament saga when yusuke beat toguro, at the same time in DBZ world (original airings) was the beginning of the cell saga... so even though they are very similar in comparison, yu yu was aired first, so who influenced who?

Kickinthescience

Yusuke won the tournament, beat up his best friend and slapped up wifey in the same episode. He built different

Anthony Lujan

This is considered the best tournament arc in anime i would say its a toss up between this and yugiohs

Aaron

Boy has one gear in his body: Whip that ass!

Yu Yu Hakusho is a masterpiece in my eyes. Every anime i have ever watched doesn’t come close to checking off all the boxes like this one does. Only 112 episodes, not too long and not too short. This is the best dub Funimation has ever done. Every characters voice translates and fits them perfectly, especially if you’re coming from seeing DBZ first. It’s really cool to see how the characters voices from YuYu correlate with the characters from DBZ. Each character is distinct and has their own unique personality that makes them shine throughout the series. The soundtrack is amazing and fits every scene. The dialogue is top notch and the comedic relief is funny without being cringy. The romance is very beautiful. The fights aren’t just about strength and power but also very strategic as well. The animation style is awesome. Lastly the pacing of this show is phenomenal. Only 112 episodes but they make it feel like so much has happened in such a short amount of time. Every piece of work has its flaws as well as this show but to me it’s a 10/10 anime. The next arc is probably the best in the series and also the most complex in any anime i have seen.

Javi

He is always beating up his loved ones lmaoooo

Gabriel Moreira

To be fair... Kuwabara voice is really bad... you grow used to it but my god I hate this one in english dub. But thats the only thing, all the other things you said are perfect

Gabriel Moreira

12:11 I was laughing SO FUCKING HARD hahahahahaha Congratulations everyone, you have just finished experiencing THE DARK TOURNAMENT. Considered by many to be THE BEST tournament arc of all time. Im a patreon member for YEARS and I don't remember an anime that made you guys laugh so consistently and HARD as this one. Genuinely LMAO. From when Yusuke grabbed the trans demon by the balls, or when he squeezed Keiko's butt, and now this. Yu Yu Hakusho, 30 years ago, managed to combine genuine comedy with true romance and friendship and epic action in such an organic and unforced way that it still surprises me today. Truly a masterpiece. PS: As already mentioned, but it's worth reiterating, every saga has different ending songs and they are INCREDIBLY beautiful. I recommend listening to them all calmly someday.

Aadit Doshi

Sunday rundown # like hunter hunter the Opening song doesn't change except the visuals. But the Ending songs change . And since it's the 90s they used to do English dub for them, so worth listening.

GKDreamerTV

The moment Yusuke smacked Keiko 👋🏾 and Rana dropped to the floor crying 😭 Instant favorite reaction moment

DRedd

#SundayRundown Regarding Shizuru's attachment to Sakyo: May I remind you of who her brother is? She's a Kuwabara. In the game of love they fall hard and they fall fast.

Shockzz1234

Yugioh hype, i will always love it. Battle City still my favourite tournament arc till this day.

Sanji

I love every Saga / Arc in YuYu but the next one has some great moments, I can't wait. Dark Tournament is GOATED! RIP Genkai, Toguro, Sakyo & that one guy in the crowd who took a playing card to the forehead from The Beautiful Suzuki😇 🃏 🤡 PS Yusuke slapped the sh*t outta her 😢 💔
