"that's pretty dangerous", fun fact game of thrones actually had extras set on fire for the dragon scenes. they really put a lot of effort into the spectacle.

#SundayRundown This show is firing on all cylinders for me. The acting, atmosphere, character beats (Aegon especially this episode), and the armor designs are all ridiculously good. Glidus and Alt Shwift X (Shift X's evil twin) summed up why this show works better than something like HotD S2 or the later half of GoT: not everything on screen is directly from the books, but everything shown is sourced from them in some way. Take Robyn Rhysling, barely more than a named knight in the novella, yet the show builds him into an eccentric one eyed zealot. That personality isn’t spelled out, but it grows naturally from the world GRRM has established in his books. Or Aegon singing the Blackfyre Rebellion song, not in the text, but it weaves the history and lore into something diegetic and character-driven. These writers are expanding the material and connecting the dots, not redrawing most of the picture. They respect the lore and build upon it. That’s why this lands so well (so far), while other seasons felt like they were inventing unnecessary plots and themes the source never would support or spinning their wheels with certain character plotlines.

Duncan mimicking the way Egg talks was hilarious and a really wholesome moment between the two characters.

#SundayRundown I love that some of you were able to remember the character from GOT that is directly apart of this story, for most casual watchers, that flew over their heads. But Yes Maekar has 4 sons not 3 and Egg is indeed the youngest. Aerion is evil and cruel yes, but as with all Targaryen's he carries a profound pride of being a Targaryen and is very deep in his culture, the loss of dragons was a wound that was deeply felt by the Targaryens for the rest of their reign (even though it was their own damn fault) so I could see why a play showing the death of a dragon would be triggering, but he's still a bitch for breaking her fingers, also an interesting tidbit, Aerion is so prideful of being a Targaryen that the first thing he asks Egg after seeing him is what happened to his hair, such an interesting little detail.

with Micky asking about the knight equivalent of ronin. Ronin means a samurai without a lord or master, so for knights at least in asoiaf that would be hedge knight, same thing

#SundayRundown Molten take: This is the best episode in the Song of Ice and Fire universe since Game of Thrones was on the air. And that song at the end is POWERFUL. Dunk and Egg have the best friendship in the ASOIAF mythology.

Can anyone say why “Egg” would have everyone that knew him despise him, on his death and possibly before? Without real spoilers here ,tagged just in case, >!Aegon enacted policies that weakened the authority of the lords while protecting the small folk. All of his children were allowed to marry for love rather than arrangement, even when it led to dishonor, tragedy, and fractured alliances. So obviously the greater majority despised him. But he was loved by the small folk”!<. Was there any other reason why “all those that know you despise you? I’m really irritated I can’t see how to spoiler text my text.
