It’s pretty cool that Drew Barrymore provided the voice of the principal at the beginning of Scream 5, she was the one announcing that classes and activities were canceled following the attack on Tara.

It was also cool seeing both Dewey headbutt Ghostface in the hospital scene and seeing Gale headbutt Amber in their fight scene, felt like its own lil homage to them both❤️

The first guy to die in this movie is in another film called “STRANGE DARLING” that came out like 2 years ago that you guys NEED to watch. It’s so much better than most of the movies that get suggested for you guys to watch

Not to be dramatic but I've wanted a Normies watchalong to this movie for years! ;D So glad you guys finally watched it, and a bit relieved that you appreciated it as much as you did. It was fun to see the perspectives of the original Scream fans (Chris and Suraj) who hadn't seen this yet, compared to the newer watchers of the whole franchise (Navi, Rana, and Pat). I thought this was very entertaining, well-cast, and surprisingly brutal. IMO it holds up well to re-watches. It manages to be reverent of the genre and franchise while still not taking itself too seriously. You're almost caught up with Ghostface! 🔪 ·👻 ·🔪

In the hospital scene where the TV was on, she was watching Dawson's Creek. In that episode it shows SCOTT FOLEY. THE KILLER FROM SCREAM 3. META THY NAME IS THIS. 🤣🤣

#SundayRundown I love the Meeks and Carpenter siblings. Scream continues the streak of incredible casting - Jack Quaid and Mikey Madison are super-believable as psycho killers. I cannot wait to see the newest installment with my teenage niece and nephew on opening night in theatre. RIP Dewey. He called it with the love interest.💔

A little bit of trivia: - Mikey Madison (Amber) won an Oscar last year for "Anora". So, yeah... I'd say she's a pretty good. 🤣 - Exactly 5 min pass from the moment that Sheriff Hicks calls for backup until Wes gets killed. Ghostface could afford killing the Sheriff in broadlight day bc the cops were already on their way to her place. There was no need to be stealthy about it. - All the previous films had at least one of the killers with a personal grudge against Sidney. This one didn't. That's why Dewey said that felt "different". - At least our boy died after managing to save someone's sister. I loved the detail of him looking at Gale's face when he died, instead of at a Ghostface mask. - I completely disagree with Suraj about the killers motives. They were brilliant! Precisely bc Billy & Stu were horror movie fans who went on a killing spree with Ghostface masks (targeting their own friends, their own girlfriends, even exes) bc they wanted to feel like they were in a horror movie. On top of that, Billy had a personal grudge against Sidney and her mum. But he said it himself... "it's scarier when there's no real motive". Amber and Richie were horror movie fans on a killing spree with Ghostface masks (targeting their own friends and a girlfriend) bc they wanted to feel like they were in a Stab movie and also provide a great storyline for the next one. No personal grudge against Sidney, Sam or Tara. And they even got to do so as lovers while Stu & Billy were just hinted at it.

I liked the idea of the protagonist being another “Ghostface” and the whole requel idea. Scream is always best when it plays with the meta narrative and twists the tropes. Making the hero another version of the villain was a fun touch and I liked Randy’s niece Mindy adding the meta commentary. It’s good shit.

Stu was supposed to come back in 3 as the mastermind manipulating a group of teen killers from prison, but then Columbine happened Matthew Lillard had two voice cameos. At the party when everyone says “For Wes”, and the flamethrower Ghostface from Stab 8 saying “That shit is lit!”

The floor was empty because Tara was a victim of attempted murder that she survived and with the killer on the loose. Bigger hospitals usually have floors reserved for such occasions to protect the patients. If the floor had a bunch of people on it, it is much harder to regulate and secure their safety.

What's great is that you can tell the difference between who kills who by the way they do it compared to their personality. Richie was cold and calculated. He would kill in the simplest way possible. He was the one who used a few stabs at most to get it done. Whereas Amber was the one that showed all of the aggression and rage. She stabbed wildly and enjoyed causing pain. She was also the one who attacked Tara in the beginning.

Scream 3 had only 1 killer The creepy guy who was killed in the parking lot was Stu's nephew, which is why he was targeted by Ghostface.
