You have to give them the full Mick Foley context. A big part of his legend is taking the most brutal beatings and still being (by far) the nicest guy in pro wrestling.

Moxley's matches are like Cactus Jack's matches without the amazing psychology or memorability - so Foley's Japanese death matches, basically. If Foley is Gary Oldman, then Mox is Jason Statham. He can be good and elevated by the right directors and actors, but he typically relies on the same boring formula because it pays the same. "Straight to streaming platform Moxley" is real.

Matches like this and TLC gave me endless entertainment as a kid. But I don't think they aged well, and they inspired dozens of neck surgeries and dangerous stunts, especially on fringe indies like CZW and GCW. The funny thing is, character work, an autobiography, goofy comedy, and catchphrases made Mick Foley more popular than any stunt.

Well… Here we are. I purposely didn’t vote for this match on the poll because I know the Dropkick Gals don’t take the gore too well, but I’m glad you all watched. Surprisingly Czechs Mix seemingly handled watching this better than Wasabi & The Jewel, but clearly the 3 of you are changed forever after this one🤣😂 The Mandible Claw where he put Socko on his hand is a very painful move. He puts his ring & middle finger in your mouth & pushes down on the part under your tongue & uses his thumb to push up basically controlling your whole head with those 3 fingers like a puppet. I know Czechs said it looked playful & silly, but don't let the Socko gimmick fool you. IT SUCKS!! In defense of the fans cheering the carnage on, we all know what we’re signing up for when you have Cactus Jack’s name on the lineup. I think it was 1997 that fans started bringing signs that said "Foley is God" (saw a few in the crowd during this match) because they loved him so much for being such an unselfish wrestler that would go thru these types of bloody matches & lose almost every time. He's got one of the biggest hearts EVER if you see him speak IRL. Combine that with the young, smug, & disrespectful 24 year old Randy Orton who deserved his face smashed in for the way he carried himself & treated the legends before him, this type of match made sense as an ending to their story. Love that the DropKick Chicks stick to rooting for the bad guy/heel almost every time no matter what tho. Can't wait to see who you all root for when we get to HHH vs Randy Orton 2009 feud😳⛓️‍💥💋

You think the Foley vs Orton match was brutal. This is scratching the surface of MANY HARDCORE MATCHES involving Mick Foley like his many legendary bouts with Terry Funk in ECW and IWA Japan. Or The Hell in the Cell Match against the Undertaker in King of the Ring 98, his Wrestlemania Hardcore match against Edge in Wrestlemania 22 & the most hard to watch match of Mick Foley career is his I Quit match against The Rock for the WWF Championship match in Royal Rumble 99. The last match that for me personally I don’t recommend to watch that one in particular due being hard to watch.

Mick foley was kinda the guy they used to make other guys into stars, He did it for triple h, he did it for randy, edge whenever you needed another guy to come out of a match looking great you sent in foley to whoop his ass and lose

Honestly, I would argue hard hitting Japanese style wrestling has led to far more concussions and neck surgeries, and a literal internal decapitation, so I would say it’s far more dangerous. This style, if done well, and not taken two as far of an extreme as places like CZW have done in the past is entertaining. AEW has taken it too far a couple of times as well, which is pretty irresponsible for a mainstream promotion, but even they haven’t touched the levels of insanity that the Indies and Japan have.

Probably my favorite thing that the Internet has given us is watching poor innocent unsuspecting women be forced into watching the sick and twisted insanity that is well done professional wrestling violence. I do think there is obviously a limit, which even in mainstream companies in more recent years has been taken too far, but I think there is a point where this can be done well and it tells a great story, this match was one of those occasions. I remember when I was a teenager I would scare my sister by having her watch matches like this just to see her get grossed out, good times. Am I crazy? Probably at least a little, but hey, it was all in good fun.

Fun fact for Navi and Marketa (and any other One Piece fans that don't know this) - Spandam's mask is based off of another Mick Foley character, Mankind. You saw a bit of him in the video packages before the match :) Also yes it's a miracle that Mick Foley is still alive tbh. Actually, even better he's in (relatively) good health! Somehow. Truly built different.

I dont think we needed a reaction to this match honestly. This might be the most depressing reaction to watch. Its been nearly a year of doing these wrestling videos and we haven't got a single Shawn match yet? Come on i know the girls will appreciate how amazing Shawn is. We need the wrestlemania 25 classic greatest WWE match of all time. And give the girls the backstory on the match and the two performers as well suuuuurely

Ranna 5 min in - Ok guys we have seen Orton in the future, we know he is ok. Ranna 10 min latter - OH MY GOD ITS EVERYWERE ITS IN HIS DICK PLZ GIVE UP ALREADY!! Yeah, this was Ortons baptism in HARDCORE matchs and we can say it was for you girls too! I know its brutal but its also legendary, something you will never see in modern fights and maybe its for good but yet we all should know/see how EPIC things could be in the old days

#SundayRundown You could write a novel about how important Mick Foley has been to wrestling. I'll say for as much credit as he gets he deserves more. So many guys owe huge for helping make them in wrestling Sting, Edge, Triple H, Randy Orton, Tommy Dreamer, Mikey Whipwreck & others. I know Undertaker was massive before Foley but he made him more than just a gimmick.
