Damn I never expected them to watch this. This was my 3rd favorite movie last year behind Sinners and F1

Normies reacting to Marty Supreme? And they said Christmas came once a year 😏 Also Happy Constantine’s Day! It’s way better than Valentine’s Day 😁

Sinners was devilishly good 😏 Marty Supreme was supremely entertaining 😏 F1 was F-ing fun 😏

In the scrapped 1980s-set finale, an older Marty (Timothée Chalamet) is at a Tears for Fears concert with his granddaughter. Josh Safdie confirmed that digital teeth and prosthetics for an older Timothée Chalamet had already been commissioned for the scene. i wish they did that scene

I love this movie so damn much! Suraj it is based on a real guy, but the story is all fiction, I highly recommend checking out the real Marty, Marty Reisman. Personally my favorite 3 movies this past year was this, Sinners, and Warfare! But holy shit, that opening made me cringe so hard, thanks alot Pat. 😂 So far, the awards that have been handed out include the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes. Sinners has actually performed very well, picking up multiple wins in the technical and behind-the-scenes categories while earning nominations across all the major categories, but are losing them. The losses people online, keep pointing to aren’t “snubs,” despite how often that word gets thrown around. The film has been up against serious competition like One Battle, Hamnet, Marty, and others, stacked categories that reflect a strong year, not some grand slight. Timothée Chalamet has won Best Actor in both of his nominations so far. The discourse Pat was hinting at mostly comes from people who haven’t really followed awards in previous years but suddenly frame every loss as Sinners being “snubbed.” That’s simply not what a snub means. Losing in highly competitive categories, specially in a year as strong for films as 2025 (much like it was for video games), is completely normal. And let’s be real: Sinners is now the most-nominated film in Oscars history with 16 nomination, which is pretty much the opposite of being snubbed. Yet judging by how the conversation has gone the last month, even if the film wins ten awards but loses Best Director, Best Picture, or Best Actor, people will absolutely lose their minds, just like they have over the past month.

This movie was such a nice addition to the Safdie’s Shitbag trilogy. I liked how they never switched up on Marty and kept him being super scummy yet laser focused on his drive. It contextualized every single facet of Marty and really shows the lengths some people will go to achieve the American dream. Nice touch on having Marty be super high on cloud nine when he was winning but we see him lose his cool as soon as he loses. It frames his entire life around his obsession to become something more. We really see it when he refuses to recognize his son all throughout the film yet immediately after beating Endo, he finally accepts his son. Even being extremely happy to see him born. Marty’s drive to dream big is so central to who he is that it even primes his emotions in the affectionate parts of his life. Very interesting character in that he objectively sucks, but I understand his every thought and decision. Great character work. Also Sean Astin is the SAG-AFTRA president now. All hail Samwise Gamgee! And Odessa A’zion (Rachel) is the daughter of Pamela Adlon , the voice of Bobby Hill. Dang it Bobby.

For me, it's Sinners, Marty Supreme, and Weapons

Jacob Livingston

Idk how yall can say you will never watch it again! I’ve already watched it 3 times since Tuesday. What a fun insane movie. Chalomet is one of the best actors going right now. Cannot wait for dune in December!

Sage

I liked weapons a lot. I had that at number 5 with The accountant 2 at number 4

Bob

its called getting old lol. I can understand what they mean by it even if its a good movie

Jacob Livingston

Yeah I understand what they meant too. It is a insanely stressful movie lol

The Normies

It's always interesting to me when a mostly unlikeable character is the protagonist of a story, especially when they still manage to make you root for them.
