3/10 Charisma | Battlestar Galactica 4x13 "The Oath" | Normies Group Reaction!

Gaeta helps Zarek to jailbreak from the Galactica onto Colonial One. There, Zarek talks Lee Adama into leaving Colonial One and returning to Galactica, to request from Admiral Adama the reason for letting Zarek go. In the meantime, Gaeta organizes a full scale mutiny on-board Galactica, with the civilians arming themselves using weapons from Galactica's weapons lockers. Kara Thrace notices the uprising, and tries to get confirmation on what is happening, but is denied the information, being repelled on the grounds of her status being unknown after the events of "Sometimes a Great Notion". Officers of the fleet who have mutinied, among them prominent people like Racetrack, Narcho and Skulls, take Lee Adama hostage upon arrival on the Galactica. He is promptly rescued by Thrace. They flee together, and decide to try to remedy the situation to whatever extent is in their reach. There's a mistake in the subtitles coming up in episode 16. I want to let you know because I've noticed it caused other reactors to be a bit confused during the scene. This is not a spoiler btw: In episode 16 at the 16:32 timestamp, there's a scene with an Eight (Sharon model) wearing civilian clothes and the subtitles erroneously label her as Athena when she's speaking. However, this is not Athena, it's just a random Eight. The subtitles continue to call this Eight "Athena", but if she's in civilian clothes just remember it's not Athena.

The Baltar pen talk is alluding to when Baltar whispered something to Gaeta and then Gaeta stabbed him in the neck with a pen last season. What Baltar whispered and why it triggered Gaeta was eventually explained in a 10 part webseries that you all skipped called "Face of the Enemy". The webseries was set between episodes 11 and 12 this season. It also helped further explain Gaeta's actions in these two episodes. "Face of the Enemy" is not really easy to find at this point due to rights issues. An attempt was made to upload it to YouTube but some of the parts have been taken down. Also not sure if you're taking watch order suggestions at this stage, but I would strongly suggest watching The Plan movie after episode 15 rather than waiting until the end of the show (if you were going to watch it). Leave the series finale as the last thing you watch.

I guess they didn't see the comments recommending the webisodes.

#SundayRundown It seems like the shootout on the CIC/Bridge was unplanned. Some of Gaeta's marines just seemed blood thirsty. But no one gave the order for that. If Zarek was there he would have, but Gaeta was running that part. That young Private saw the marines moving and tried to shield Adama, the shooting started and the young guy died protecting Adama. There was like 2 marines who were on the bridge loyal to Adama that exchanged fire with the Gaeta marines that rushed in. One or two marines got hit. I have watched this episode a lot. I do think it's cool that so many of the deck crew, mechanics, ship crew started fighting against the traitor marines. There probably are marines loyal to Adama but I'm sure Gaeta sent them out of the way before the shooting started and put his traitor marines in vital places beforehand. A lot of the ship is still loyal to Adama. I feel bad for that deck chief that was killed by Tom Zarek. He survived Pegasus and admiral Cain only to get brained by a wrench from a politician.

That's blocked in the US by YouTube.

Thank goodness Suraj is back to get people back on track with the Final Five thing. One thing that some are still repeating, which the show has never said, was that there were Cylon-Human hybrids.(Some I think just mean human-appearing.) It is kind of funny that some on the couch are assuming the show is going out of its way to mislead the audience, which other than in minor scenes they don't do. ALSO someone said "this has all happened before and will happen again" is a huuuuuuuge thing to remember. The Twelve Colonies did create the metallic Cylon Centurians, but it seems like humanity had also made them in the past as well. This has all happened before. I mean humanity wasn't born on Earth, but our descendant creations went to Earth? Cyclical. Cylons. Think about it.

https://youtu.be/dvhsSxyzvyk This one is all that's available in the US, just episodes 1-9. For whatever reason, the final Gaeta episode(#10), is copyright blocked.

Sorry guys, it works fine over here but I'm in Barcelona 🇪🇦

Leave it to Gaius "Frakin" Baltar to save the day! Our hero! Without him, Roslin wouldn't have gotten her word out to the fleet.

Change cillon for Natzi and say its ok to work with cillon's. They genocide the human race, chased them down, and when they found them, put them in camps; now you're asking to work with them.

Love LOVE Suraj. He's great at using context clues to connect dots. The upload today really highlighted that. Hope he is a part of every single reaction until the end of the show.

Most working class revolutions have required significant violence. The French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Laotian, Haitian, Russian, Cuban revolutions (and many more). Even Scandinavian countries achieved their social democratic reforms in part by violent struggle. The US abolished child labor and achieved the 5 day work week through violent struggle. And yes, even South Africa's ANC ended up using significant violence. Mandela co-founded the militant wing of the ANC. Highly recommend checking out all those revolutions (and historical labor/social movements and reforms), and also: The Paris Commune.

Meh

"We should kill Willy AND Nilly" Spidey always cracks me up XD I said early on that something I really love about this show is that I can absolutely see humanity (particularly the US) acting this way in this general scenario. Also loved the Lil Dickey Pillow Talking references at the end XD

I remember my heart pounding after my initial watch when it was originally released.

Maia Brodsky

Are we getting the next episode today?

Louis Marti

holy shit lol, the dumbest thing I've ever heard come out of Micky's mouth spoken with perfect confidence: "There has never been a successful revolution borne out of violence." Insane cope. “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”

Marketa said no on yesterday SundayRunDown :(

Marketa said no on yesterday SundayRunDown, Sadly, when it comes to BSG, I don't see them responding to comments that much besides 2-3 for SundayRunDown. Put the #SundayRunDown if you want them to read your comments.
