“It’ll take years/You have two weeks.” You know Lex makes his people work impossibly fast. Superboy in Young Justice was 16 “years” old when he was actually just 16 weeks 😂

#SundayRundown He does need a space suit to breath in this show. He can hold his breath for a while, but a space suit is just a good thing to have. The part where Superman sees all the planets and alien species getting destroyed is such sad scene. Then when Superman just falls to his knees in shock and sadness after seeing it all, it's so well animated. It hits harder as an adult than when I was a kid.

#SundayRundown Brainiac was going to be one of the antagonists in Tim Burton's 1998 Superman Lives film that had Nicolas Cage as Superman. Christopher Walken was the director's choice to play the part. Besides Cage another key role was cast with Chris Rock being hired to play Jimmy Olsen. They spent purportedly $30 million dollars & years developing something that never came to fruition. Burton left after a year Other big names like Michael Bay & left field choice Oliver Stone were offered the gig. The whole project is fascinating to read up on.

Another great episode that reintroduces Brainiac and points out Lex's illogical maintenance timeframe orders. Also, of course, I'm a DVD guy; most of my collection is stuff I couldn't catch on TV or on current streaming services. (It's messed up HBO Max removed Super Friends!)

#SundayRundown Great reaction and cool to see that for most on the couch this is your first introduction to Brainiac. It was for so many of us who grew up with the DCAU too. Also this was the first version of Brainiac to be a rogue Kryptonian AI. It has been quite influential to a few other interpretations of Brainiac. In most versions he is from a planet called Colu. In the original comics he would shrink a city down from a planet and take it aboard his ship. A more traditional version of Brainiac is actually in Season 5 of Harley Quinn.

#Sundayrundown Good episode, but one thing bothered me. Lois and Jimmy are the loudest stealth journalists I've ever seen. I'm surprised Luther's goons didn't hear them and shoot them 😁.

Villains can just stand up in box trucks. Remember the proud boys (or one of the other racist groups) arrived and left in one.

#SundayRundown I’m glad you guys are enjoying Brainiac. Idk if you’re aware but in the next Superman movie, he’s the villian. First time he’s been a villian in a live action Superman movie

I laughed out loud last week because someone (I think Suraj?) said at the end of last week's episode something like "it'll be ages since we see Brainiac, I bet" and BAM, literally the next episode you watch, he's here lmao.

#sundayrundown Another great episode and a first confrontation with DCAU Brainiac. As established in the pilot this one is rogue Kryptonian AI, not a green alien with a pet monkey like originally conceived (some of you have already seen this version in the last season of the Harely Quinn show). Easily one the best version of him and a very interesting reimagining that make him such a major antagonist, directly involved in the death of Kal/Clark’s parents and entirely culture. Also the first episode where you guys meet Lex’s bodyguard Mercy Graves (voiced by Lisa Edelstein), another great female villain created for the DCAU that would later make the jump into comics (like Harley, Livewire and Roxy Rocket). Brainiac and her will appear again and her backstory gets explored. Also forgot last time Lois Lane is voiced by Dana Delany (who some of you will know as the voice of Andrea Beaumont/The Phantasm from “Batman Mask of the Phantasm”), so she has voiced the love interest for both Batman and Superman. The Ice cave at the end is essentially the beginning of this Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, in a double episode that you will skip he takes the alien creatures he frees there to care for them (which will have major consequences by the time Superman appears in Batman Beyond).

It only seems loud because the camera right on them. They got the vlog mics on for the audience

Hot take Superman TAS is the better show its just more consistent than BTAS I can pretty much watch every episode of Superman but I for sure skip a good amount of BTAS even though the highs are really high I feel its lows are lower plus Superman has Worlds finest as part of its run and Legacy I do adore Kevin and Mark as Batman and Joker plus I love Dick and we had Robins Reckoning as a 2 parter that won an emmy
