Damn, Daniel | Battlestar Galactica 4x15 "No Exit" | The Normies Group Reaction!

The episode follows stories on two timelines: the current events in the fleet, and events aboard Cavil and Boomer's basestar in flashback, beginning at the end of the Cylon occupation of New Caprica, and jumping forward until it converges with the present. In a flashback to the Cylon occupation of New Caprica, it is revealed that Ellen Tigh resurrected in the Cylon fleet after Saul poisoned her. At first, she is known only to Cavil. Ellen tries to persuade Cavil to stop chasing the humans, but he refuses, saying he wants justice for the enslavement of the Cylons that led to the Cylon War. Ellen refers to Cavil as John, his model's original name, which he dislikes. It is revealed that he was modeled after Ellen's father. #sundayrundown So yes, you largely got all the lore straight. But if you want a way too long but fairly complete refresher, here’s the full rundown based on all the lore dropped and seen so far. 1. Life began on Kobol. 12 human tribes formed, they created Cylons who became the 13th tribe. 2. The 13th tribe left Kobol and the 12 tribes memorialized the 13th leaving for Earth in Kobol’s Tomb of Athena. 3. Some years pass and the 12 human tribes come into some kind of strife and leave Kobol and form the 12 Colonies. 4. The Earth Cylons start to procreate and leave resurrection tech behind. The humanoid Earth Cylons create mechanical models. 5. The Earth mechanical Cylons rebel. At this same time, the Final Five are recreating resurrection tech, and somehow seeing the end coming, save themselves using the tech. Knowing the dangers of not treating your robot offspring well, they travel back along the path their ancestors took to find the 12 Colonies. 6. Going sublight, it took them thousands of years to get there. During this time, the 12 Colonies invented mechanical Cylons as well, who rebelled. The 12 Colonies mechanical Cylons tried to create humanoid models by experimenting on captured humans. (The first hybrid in the Razor movie). 7. The Final Five finally arrived to see the first Cylon war in progress in the Colonies. They promised the 12 Colonies mechanical Cylons the humanoid Cylon tech and resurrection in exchange for ending the war. 8. The Final Five create the eight humanoid Cylon models. Cavil eventually gets pissed and kills the Final Five, wiping their memories, implanting new ones and slowly introducing them into Colonial life. 9. At some point, Cavil kills off the “artistic” Number 7 Daniels and ends that line. 10. Decades pass as the Final Five are finally all wiped and put into Colonial life. Tyrol’s background goes back at least legitimately about 6-7 years. Tigh seems like he was put in at least 20 years or so before, having been a younger man meeting Adama. 11. With the Final Five now in their new lives, Cavil launches the second Cylon war and the series begins. 12. The Galactica and Fleet flee the Colonies and eventually find Kobol, there they find directions for the mythical 13th tribe thanks to Kara bringing back the arrow of Apollo. 13. Human Helo and humanoid Cylon Model Eight have a hybrid baby, who is said to have a special destiny. 14. Along the way they find other markers, including the beacon which had the bacteria left behind that infected the humanoid Cylons and was killing them. They also found the Eye of Jupiter, which pointed the way to Earth. Ellen claims they didn’t leave the visions of the Five that D’anna saw there. 15. We know there’s still some other party in play thanks to “angels” Head Six and Head Baltar. Kara has a special destiny which has included painting the Eye of Jupiter before they found it, dying, coming back and is said to include leading them to their end. And then there’s that music…

21:20 That was a clutch correction Suraj. NICE. 22:30 Also, great job working out that Cavil was not on Earth. Therefore, he could not be the cause of the nuclear holocaust. You were cooking something crazy in that discussion. 🚬

#SundayRundown THEY HAD A BRAIN SURGEON THIS WHOLE GODDAMN TIME!?!?!?! That would have been nice to know. Couldn't that doctor also have been useful in all the regular surgeries they did throughout the series? The writing in this show is great, but understand that they came up with some of this stuff very late in the show. Example, they didn't come up with the idea of the final five until season 3. But this created problems like why don't the Cylons care about Cally and Tyrol's half Cylon baby? Quick, let's say that Cally just cheated on Tyrol. Problem solved.

Calvin Allen

They told us all of their numbers earlier this season. Cavil is 1, Leobon is 2, Xena is 3, Simon the doctor is 4, Doral is 5, Six and Eight

Come to think of it, the death of Ellen back in New Caprica is probably the scene with most layers within layers of the whole show. P.S: next episode: Ellen is finally coming back to The Real Housewives of Battlestar Galactica!! 😍🤣

I wanna know why Pat isn’t reacting I thought he’d love no.6

BT

Baby sitting, probably.

Dang, well, I hope you guys watch Battlestar Galactica: The Plan after the show is over. Sad for the web-episode as well, but it sucks that it's hard to find now. (Face of the enemies) The rest you find on the DVD or Blu-ray.

Marvin

Please do The Plan, it will fill in some of your discussion questions. Even better was the Blood and Chrome movie with a young Adama in the first war.

#sundayrundown Rana->I can't remember the sundayrundown ep it was but you told Suraj that you thought Ellen would resurrect in a future episode & Suraj told you no, bc that made no sense. The reactions from the 2 of you when she resurrected had me LOL
