Completely unrelated, but I just wanted to notify you about something. Apparently OPLA season 2 has decided to include stuff from waaay later on (Navi and Marketa will realize what I mean as soon as they see it), so Suraj will be spoiled for events that will be revealed and you'll react to in, like... years, lol.

Getting uncomfortably close to the end…So bittersweet. :(

Really? Cylon Projection. Six explained it to Gaius on the base ship way back when.

Btw, the guy on the piano was playing the opening chords from the original BSG show.

I think this is Boomer's fourth betrayal. First she shot Adama and betrayed the humans on Galactica. Then she and Caprica started a mini rebellion amongst the cylons which led to New Caprica. Then she betrayed the 6's and 8's by siding with Cavill in the Cylon civil war. Then we thought she betrayed Cavill by saving Ellen and bringing her to Galactica, but that looks like it might have been the plan all along, we will see. So, at this point, if you decide to trust Boomer, that's on you. She has been very clear about who she is, which is the literal opposite of Athena. Even though those two share the same Sharon Valerii memories, and are technically the only two Sharon Eights (the others are only Number Eights), they couldn't be more different. Love Athena, hate Boomer.

It's always funny to me how one thing will randomly be said by someone on the couch and then it just enters everyone's headcanon as established fact.

#sundayrundown Athena V Boomer is facinating, especially since they started from the same memories. But Athena was self aware. Boomer has never taken accountability for anything, w the humans or the Cylons. Never peeped a "I wasn't in control, I'm sorry I shot you" to Adama. That dumb scene w Cally in New Caprica "I can't help you out of prison but congrats on your baby!" 🤣 Whereas Athena, since the second she chose Helo & the humans, proved she would keep her word & stay loyal.

To play devils advocate a bit, the thing that I think you are referring to from this reaction is a good theory though. It makes sense how this normie came to that conclusion based on context clues. I love BGS, but it's the fault of the show for being ambiguous. Leaving the watcher to come up with thier own ideas to fill in the gaps. And that's part of the fun! Honestly, I wish the show did write that into the story as fact lol. I have faith that the Normies will get to the end, and things will become clear to them. All headcanon will vanish 😂🤞i hope.

D'Anna is back on earth. She said she was going to stay there.

The "what could have been" Cylon projection scenes with Tyrol hit hard when you consider that the actor's wife passed away from breast cancer after season 1 had completed filming. Aaron Douglas went on Katee Sackhoff's show last year and discussed how he dealt with his wife's illness during production of the first season; you can tell that he's still pretty broken up about the loss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-Feqrf-ono&t=1186s

I think they briefly touched on the religious aspect of things, although their confusion about the shared visions vs Cylon projection muddied the waters a bit. Religion is a *much* bigger component of this story than I think most on the couch realize. I agree that the final episodes may help get them back on track. Starbuck's story was always designed to be a red herring when it came to her maybe being a Cylon, because that's the only reincarnation we've seen in the show, but the fact *no Cylon but the Hybrid* knew anything about her tells the viewer she couldn't have been killed, resurrected on the Resurrection Ship without anyone knowing, and somehow flown back on an identical ship to the one she died in with zero memory. Every time we see a Cylon reborn in a tank, they always realize they are Cylon in that moment. Kara never had that experience. *She had been to Earth* like she said, finding her original body and ship proves that. The fact the whole path to Earth has been a religiously driven quest, and the maybe not metaphor title of "angel of Death" seems to fit more and more as the resurrected Kara storyline progressed.

Sorry for the wall of text, discovering I can't add paragraph breaks on mobile...

I wanna point a few nuances on that though: - Boomer was a sleeping agent and tried to resist the first betrayal. She found water for the fleet and even shot herself. It's was implied that, even with all her training, she didn't kill Adama on purpose when he shot him. She could've come clean, but let's not forget that it took months for Tigh to do the same. And he only did it when D'Anna forced his hand. - The second betrayal happened because she tried to keep her "humanity" instead of fully embracing her Cylon identity. - The third betrayal—switching to Cavill's side—was a direct result of the failure that was New Caprica. I think Tyrol starting a family with the woman who had killed her (and only had stayed 1-2 days in Galactica's brig as punishment for that) probably had something to do with it. - The fourth betrayal wasn't really a betrayal. She actually stuck with Cavill's side. - People forget that Athena was a traitor too. She got pregnant by Helo, pretending to be Boomer. Then, she betrayed the Cylons, but it wasn't because of a moral code. She did it because of her feelings for Helo and for Hera, knowing her daughter might get dissected by the Cylons eventually. - It's true that even though Adama and Roslin betrayed Athena when they told her that Hera had died at birth, she never betrayed them. But I think the main difference with Boomer was that Athena had someone, Helo, who was always on her corner and never betrayed her... until this episode, in a sort of way. That was really $hitty of her, especially since she was going to take Hera as well, but I think it also had to do with Boomer trying to prove in some twisted way that Athena wasn't better than her, that she could've had her life. Don't get me wrong, Athena is awesome and is one of my favorite characters, but if Tyrol hadn't married Callie and Adama had forgiven her at some point... maybe Boomer could've ended up in the fleet's side. Who knows, that's the beauty of this show.

I liked Boomer up until she sided with Cavill. Even when she threatened to choke little Hera, which was awful, I still empathized with her because of what you wrote. Siding with Cavill (if it is because she felt bad that Tyrol married the woman who killed her, it is a very weak motive and very far from an excuse), and then coming to the Galactica, beating up Athena and sleeping with Helo in front of her, and then stealing her child and taking that child to someone who has lobotomized Cylons... The things that have happened to her do not add up to that. Not even close. And I think saying Athena is different because she has Helo and Boomer didn’t have Tyrol kind of robs Athena of a lot of credit for having the strength to keep helping people who kidnapped your child. What I take from the Athena and and Boomer dichotomy is that there is more to a person than your genetics and even your memories. That two people so similar could end up so different.
