Kalibak is Orion’s half-brother (due to a technicality of Kalibak’s birth 😂). Orion was in Young Justice Season 4 during the Rocket arc. He paralleled Rocket’s son Amistad’s autism, helping Rocket learn how to help her son as well. Orion was traded to Highfather and Scott Free a.k.a. Mister Miracle (Highfather’s son) was traded to Darkseid as part of a peace pact. Similar to Theon Greyjoy being Ned Stark’s ward in Game of Thrones. And Kalibak is voiced by Worf (Michael Dorn).

#sundayrundown “This is who I am…” such a hard line as his introduction to Superman. Spidey is right Orion is the son of Darkseid, he’ll show up in STAS too, in one of its best episodes. Another amazing DCAU voice cast choice, with Michael Ironside as the voice of Darkseid and Michael Dorn from Star Trek as the voice of Kalibak another New God/Jack Kirby creation.

We were talking on the Sunday Rundown post about them finding the PG-13 version of Batman Beyond Return of the Joker on streaming. That's the uncensored version of the film & it's runtime is 76:45. It seems difficult to find online. Can anyone vouch for a service that has the right version? I'm really hoping they can track it down because there's a pretty big difference between the two cuts.

#SundayRundown Amazing character actor Michael Ironside is the voice of Darkseid here & he's just perfect. So much so that they later used him on Harley Quinn. He has another DC connection as he played Lois Lane's dad General Sam Lane on Smallville.

Michael Ironside was also Lewis Snart, Captain Cold and Golden Glider’s father, in The Flash. And I remember him as a kid when he played the villain in The Famous Jett Jackson movie 😁

#SundayRundown watching all these Superman episodes with you guys makes me excited for not only Supergirl but the Superman ‘25 follow up, Man Of Tomorrow. It’s good to see the Superman IP back in prime form after close to a decade of people trashing the character. Smallville was great when it came out. Always had amazing season premieres and finales, but in between would eventually kinda drag. Then the last 3 or so seasons, that predictability went away. Solid show of the time, don't know if it would hold up.

#sundayrundown I'm tired of dumbassery by bystanders in superhero shows, and this had folks operating at PhD levels. First Lois kept hovering while Superman grappled with a bot that could vaporize her with a stray shot (it's her thing, but still get back!). Second both Kents were determined to first blow Clark's secret identity sky high and second get killed trying to step to Kalibak. Jonathan Kent, you been married for 167 years- you don't need to impress Martha at this point 😁. Stand back and watch your son kick ass and don't say a word since you clearly can't act like he's not your son in public.

Are you guys watching World's Finest is a 3 part episode, and Apokalips now, and Little Girl Lost. From Season 3 Absolute Power and In Brightest Day has the most relevance to JL series. There is an episode in Season 2 episode 12 that hints to an Injustice Superman.

Yea Kaliback is the half brother of Orion, Orion just lives with the New Gods cause he was traded to be with them as a baby for the peace treaty

#SundayRundown This was a fun episode! Michael Dorn voiced Kalibak and plays Worf on Star Trek. Kalibak was also briefly in Young Justice. In those storylines, he is the son of Highfather, while Orion is the son of Darkseid; they traded sons for a peace treaty.

Cool. Thanks. Did you watch it or skim through it by any chance? Shockzz1234 mentioned people seeing saying they still got the edited version even with that runtime. It's crazy to me that there could be so many different runtimes or versions for this across multiple streaming platforms. I'm glad I have Blu-ray.

I did. I checked and it was still unedited for me. Weird. I’ll check again. Yep. I’m staring at the uncensored Joker scene. Blood dripping down their chin with the BANG and all. Says PG-13. It’s the Youtube Movies & TV channel.
