Marketa, Chris, Suraj, Spidey and Rana present their review and reaction to One Piece: East Blue Episode 62, "Fantastic Voyage" AKA "The First Line of Defence? The Giant Whale Laboon Appears!" , as well as Episode 63 "A Promise Between Men! Luffy and the Whale Vow to Meet Again!" ---------------------------------------------------------------- Episode 62 Summary Upon entering the Grand Line, the Straw Hat Pirates, helpless because of their broken helm, are promptly swallowed by a giant whale named Laboon. Luffy gets separated from the rest of the crew, and the Straw Hats find some very odd structures inside the whale, as well as that they are not alone in their predicament. & Episode 63 Summary After hearing the story of Laboon the whale, Luffy comes up with a clever solution to his problems. From Laboon's caretaker, Crocus, the crew learns more about the Grand Line and how to navigate through it via Log Pose, since compasses are useless there. The crew finally decide to travel to Whisky Peak. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Acknowledgement One Piece is an original series written by Oda Eiichiro. #SundayRundown - Congrats on finishing on another arc guys, the Reverse Mountain Arc is the shortest arc in One Piece, having only two episodes but even with 2, they’re packed with great lore and storytelling as we learn about Laboon, Crocus, and the mechanics of the Log Pose. Marketa was wrong but she was on the right track, every island on the grand line is formed by strong magnetic minerals, those islands produce magnetic fields and the Log Pose records the magnetic fields between two islands and tracks that to the next island, but the Log Pose does NOT keep the record of a previous island’s Magnetic field, whenever it gets to the next island it rewrites the previous record with a new one so you can continue to travel from one island to the next in the Grand Line but you CANNOT go back to an island you were previously at, which is why Laboon was waiting at Reverse Mountain since if that crew from 50 years ago ever came back, it would’ve been after sailing through the entire Grand Line and then entering through Reverse Mountain again. The journey to the One Piece is a one way road with a bunch of great stops along the way

When they’re submerged roughly waist deep is when they start feeling weak. Fully submerged makes them unable to move.

#SundayRundown #OnePiece People usually talk about individual arcs, but when I watched "One Piece", I was binging like a son-of-a-gun. Thus, I don't think of the show in terms of individual arcs, but rather, colossal swaths of episodes, with multiple storylines, all surrounding conflict with one central antagonistic force. In other words...*ahem *...WELCOME TO THE BAROQUE WORKS SAGA! We're gonna' be here for a good long while. 😁👍🏽 I forgot that The Unluckies just appear out o' nowhere to bomb Wednesday and 9, and then just dip. From the trailer, it seems that's how random they are in OPLA as well. 😆

Laboon can't go back to the West blue even through the calm belt because it is on the other side of the red line. It could go to south blue or east blue but that doesn't fix its problem.

This current time of being a One Piece fan is so wild to me, because i'm watching your guy's reaction to the anime in sub and you've just entered the Grand Line, but I'm also watching Blind Wave's reaction to the anime but in DUB and they've also just entered the Grand Line THEN on top of that, I'm also watching the Live Action which, guess what? Just entered the Grand Line. I'm (re)experiencing this part of the series in like 3 different ways all at once lmao, it's quite nice actually, especially noticing right off the bat the differences OPLA makes around here.
