#SundayRundown I wonder how many people learned about IBS through The Sopranos? I did. Normie Chris is not wrong about American imperialism, by the way. The difference is that Trump does it with the subtlety of a dementia-riddle baboon. W is still one of the worst presidents by kill count alone, but Trump is so damned unstable that we didn't worry about World War III until he was in charge - I know they had the Red Scare in the 50s and '60s, I'm talking the 90s until now.

#SundayRundown Peak anxiety reaction to the coke fueled Tony and Ade awkwardness....I said the same my first time watching, thank Gawd that Joey Peeps and Phil Leotardo aka Billy Batts come a-knockin. Suraj was underwhelmed tho. You good brutha?? It was like everybody else stole your usual reactive energy for themselves and left you just meh so they could lose their whole shit. Poor lil Tone... First time the man didn't hit and it still turned sour. "I might as well have fucked her! ...Thanks."

#SundayRundown While I agree with Chris that this (amazing) episode feels like a 'nothing burger' due to Tony feeling the consequence of something he didn't end up doing, a huge and pivotal shift happens in this episode. I'm curious if you pick up on it further in the series. Tony coming back for the pizza always felt hilarious to me due to the fact that he can't seem to help himself, even in the midst of such a shitshow, lol. My personal theory is that this pizza moment ended up inspiring the pizza moment (on the roof) in Breaking Bad, haha. Both scenes involve a domestic spat, that use pizza as a (visual) punchline. Vince Gilligan and Bryan Cranston have always touted The Sopranos for its influence on BB, so who knows! Loved this episode (and the reaction)!

PS: both Michael Emporioli (Christopher) and Drea di Matteo (Adriana) won an Emmy for this episode (and another upcoming episode further down the season). Great performances.

i think it's slightly alluded to in the discussion but the title applies to a lot in the episode. the problems that arise in this episode (and frankly a lot of other problems throughout the series) are being solved within normal parameters of their subculture, but how much does it really resolve in the grand scheme of things? not everything can be cleanly resolved within established margins. tony took a good first step in going back to therapy even if it didn't prevent a shit show from happening. there's a general malady that surrounds everybody in the episode. from the more overt instances with tony and adrianna sharing about their illnesses, to more subdued moments like chris having one scene about his tooth pain and carmela not having a physical illness, but being affected by the corrosive nature of tony's reputation all the same.

i actually didn't know they won for this episode, or that you could win for more than one episode a season. i was under the impression actors submitted one episode, but i guess that's not the case. i know the other one they won for was a given. but looking on the episode here, it also doesn't surprise me. this show is unmatched when it comes to raw domestic conflict.

#SundayRundown This episode has so manu tension filled scenes that just keep you on edge. It doesn't get mentioned as much as everything else but the confrontation between Tony & Christopher is an amazing bit of television. The way it's shot only adds to it. Combination of the wind, rain & minimal lighting is outstanding. There's real suspense for a first time viewer as it's easy to imagine this being the end for Christopher.

#SundayRundown One of the guys manhandling Christopher when he comes to the club is former Indianapolis Colts Defensive Tackle Tony Siragusa, whose since passed away.

I was way too young to be watching it when it aired. I hadn't heard of it yet because people didn't exactly talk about it at school during lunch. I know I'm not the only latchkey kid who was watching it before they should have.

Peter O'Hara

Tony never did anything with Tracee.

Stan the Man

Holy crap guy at end with the white shirt has the worst takes on everything.
