christopher

am enjoying these Superman episodes and all but didn't Justice League win

Adan Guzman

They’re watching a list of episodes to get better context on the DC animated universe before watching Justice league since a lot of characters from the previous shows make a return and to understand them better. We’re also getting Batman beyond after Superman

christopher

no I get that but when i watch, i didnt realized they were all connected, and it still didn't affect the show. I get why this episode is on the list its because of the arc that happens in Justice League, but when i watch Justice League and the arc started i never questioned it.

#SundayRundown Great reaction!! The Brainiac impressions are hilarious!! Speaking of, Brainiac is definitely persistent! This is DEFINITELY an important episode!! Gives us a bit more on Mercy's character too! Also I think last reaction Chris mentioned Bizarro!! He is one of my favorites!! Hopefully one day you all see his story on this show!!

#SundayRundown So Mercy isn’t a robot/cyborg in this universe, just a skilled fighter in combat. If she was a robot/cyborg, there’s a good chance Braniac would’ve taken control of her too. If you think this is the end of her story, don’t worry. We’ll see more of her character later.

Adan Guzman

I know what you mean. It could be possible that the writers didn’t think about THAT back then when they wrote this episode but the thing that happens later does make complete sense of how that character planned for something like that.

Grimm

Hopefully the person who gave them the list added Old Wounds episode from Batman animated series.

#sundayrundown This is a great episode with tons of set up for the future. Brainiac returns (again), and Mercy’s origin, she’s been around in several episodes but this is where she gets the spotlight. You guys know the robot version from Young Justice but this is where she originally came from. The creators of the DCAU came up with a lot of female villains (Harley, Mercy, Red Claw, Livewire, Roxy Rocket, Volcana), quite a few would later get adapted in the comics. Comic Mercy wasn’t a normal woman but rather a rouge Amazon that came to Man’s World. Mercy is one of my favourites, her look is cool she’s very competent but sadly she’s a lot like Harley. Lex groomed her and made her his right hand, whenever things don’t go his way he verbally and mentally abuses her. So similar to Harley you hope that she gets away from Lex.

#SundayRundown I really hope Suraj connects everything back to Lost everywhere he goes. Random barista accidentally spills coffee on him & instead of yelling in pain he says: "I feel like just like Jin in Season 1, Episode 24 Exodus, Part 1"

Ren Davis

This show has such a deft handling of character. Those small moments where you see Clark show his backbone, Lex being vulnerable, Mercy opening up to Superman about why she trusts Lex…….only to be left to die by him and still have to be his lapdog. Like Superman said: “just a stray.” And all of it framed with Mercy asking what Lex would ever do without her and that he would never hope to find out……..only to immediately throw her aside a few moments later and leave her to die at the end. Great writing.

TrixieTurner

Bruh damn how long is that gonna take, we getting gta6 before justice league.

TrixieTurner

Anyone know how long it’s gonna take till they actually start watching justice league?

Maurice Gray Jr

#sundayrundown Clark palming that missile was INSANE! I keep forgetting how early in his evolution he is. I was like "Why are you flying so slow? Get away from the city!" He was still learning his powers at that point and that was the best he could do. This is definitely good background for the Justice League run. I never watched STAS (or BTAS)- I went straight into Justice League when I discovered it. Now I have more context for what is to come Brainiac-wise.

The list has 26 episodes of Superman: TAS and Batman: Beyond plus the Batman Beyond movie. So 19 episodes to go. The list that they're doing can be seen in the Sunday Rundown comment section from the date 1.25.26.

TrixieTurner

Damn so like six months away that’s brutal.

Frankie H

#SundayRundown Lois hinted on the phone that Mercy is in love with Lex. Lois: You see how she always hovers over him? Clark: But that's her job Lois. Lois: It's no wonder why you're still single Kent. Also Mercy is Doctor Cuddy from House. I found that out today.

Shockzz1234

I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that they said they may release two parters as one video, so it cuts a bit of time off.

TrixieTurner

Here’s hoping cause the waits gonna be a real kick in the teeth.

Adan Guzman

I’ve been meaning to ask. Are there any “The New Batman Adventures” episodes they need to watch? Because I don’t remember seeing those on the list.

Kay Bee Baby

In an earlier season 1 episode “My Girl” she’s also super jealous of Lana Lang when she has a relationship with Lex (and spies on him because she wants to help Clark). She makes a remark when Lex sees Superman fly out of Lana’s apartment and he chews her out for it.

Daniel Gonzalez

You did yourself a major disservice I'm biased since my favorite superhero is Superman followed by DG and TMG in that order but in my opinion Superman TAS is one of the most consistent series I can watch pretty much every episode but for others I definitely skip some

Shockzz1234

I don't think so tbh. BTAS was mostly episodic and doesn't have too many ties to the bigger DCAU or connects directly to JL/U, it only really starts connecting properly in STAS (they did watch a a few TNBA eps a few years ago though, like Mad Love and Over The Edge)

Maurice Gray Jr

Just by what I've seen so far it looks worth my time to binge the whole series

Zeee

You people are so whiny lol
