Jesse

That's Frank Vincent, who has been in a number of Scorsese movies, including Goodfellas.

Forgetting Bevilaqua is crazy, but forgetting Band of Brothers is Insane

Fun fact - President Lyndon Baines Johnson used to have cabinet members and the Vice President meet with him while he was on the toilet doing his business. Did it as a power move.

Jesse

One of the best things about this show compared to another certain other prestige HBO drama, the cops and the FBI, show zero care or sympathy for people, they are merely a means to an end to be used then discarded. There are no good cops in this show.

TJ

That is Billy Bats

The old guy who is a rat, who was wearing the hat in the meeting with the feds talking about Ralph ruining his shirt...is Ray Curto, he is one of Tony's captains. He was a captain in season one, in fact Tony was pushing for him to become the boss before Junior, but Ray, Larry Boy and Jimmy Altieri (The rat whom they killed at the end of season one) agreed with Tony to let Junior become boss. Ray is pretty high ranking. The current captains are Carlo (He has been seen a few times but will become more prominent this season, he replaced Jimmy) Vito (The fat guy getting massaged, he took over from Ralph), Paulie (Promoted to captain of Tonys crew in season 2 when Tony became boss), Larry Boy (though his nephew Albert, the guy who repeats everything you say to him, is running his crew whilst he is in jail, he got pinched with Junior at the end of season one) and Ray Curto, the old snitch dude.

I think Tony got upset with Tony B over the massage because deep down Tony despises people who do honest work. And Tony B is his cousin, almost like a brother. Tony has said that he sees blood relatives more trustworthy than non-relatives which is the reason why he has bumped Christopher up in the ranks. And now he sees his cousin that he maybe hoped might once again be his partner in crime doing something as pathetic as honest work. And not only that, but massaging guys who are Tony’s underlings, and who might eventually have become Tony B’s underlings too. He’s ashamed of how low Tony B has fallen. Opus Dei is a Catholic Organization that was infamous in this time because of the novel "Da Vinci Code"

In order for it to be a threesome situation the girlfriend/wife would be in on it and encouraging

#SundayRundown Steve Buscemi is magnetic! The story of the two Tony’s is peak!

Great shirt, Navi. The massage is wrong because Tony doesn't want his place of business to turn into a clubhouse. If they want a massage they got parlors and other place to do recreational activities. Being the boss is like that shorts comment by Carmine, a boss cant be made fun of or he loses respect, Tony B knew this but he did it anyway which is why Tony was upset. Ray is the old man rat who is a captain in Tony's crew but turned rat for the fbi. Tony is living in his Mom's house cause Janice married Bobby and moved in with him. The whitecaps house was never sold to him as he backed out of the deal. This is my favorite season of the Sopranos. Buscemi is awesome!

Phil Leotardo is most definitely Billy Bats, the "now go get ya fuckin shinebox" guy that Tommy, Jimmy and Henry (by association) whack out in Goodfellas, in the legendary beginning and middle of the film. Raymond Curto is the old guy who's snitching, goes by the name "Buffalo Ray". He's a longtime captain in the Jersey family since before Old Man DiMeo went to prison and left Jackie Aprile in charge. You don't see him but a couple episodes each season but Ray is considered one of the most solid standup guys in the family which is ironic, and until Feech La Manna got out, the oldest capo. He's the one Tony suggested should be made boss in season 1 when the capos sit down at the Bing eating lobsters and discussing Junior vs Ton. But Ray has a son with multiple schlerosis and initially used that as an excuse to not step up. He got pinched alongside the corrupt detective Vin Makazian (John Heard the dad from Home Alone) at the whorehouse in s1. That might be where his working with the Feds began but we know for sure he's ratting by season 3 in a small scene with Agent Grasso about the Bevilaqua hit. And Matt "Drinkwater" Bevilaqua who they mentioned this episode is the lil dumbass who took a shot at Christopher with his buddy Sean Gismonte in season 2 and then got found and executed by Tony himself with Pussy's help a week later

Humphrey Bogart was one of the founding members of the Rat pack. He, Sinatra and his wife Lauren Bacall were very close friends. In fact it was Bacall who came up with the name! Bogart passed in 1957 so we never saw him become a full fledged member. He was probably too cool for them anyway.

#Sunday rundown just to clear up a few things Tony 100 % can't have Tony B making fun of him in front of the guys the mob works for a few reasons the people in it don't want to work a normal job and the mob boss stays in power because people fear and respect them if the boss loses too much of either they can be killed to try to take their spot or snitched on like pussy snitch on Tony mostly because of the 30 years to life for selling drugs but he lost respect same with Richie he didn't fear nor respect Tony same with Juror

Kwame James

Also Tony didn't care about the message thing because he thinks it's gay he is mostly upset his cousin isn't useful to him

Kwame James

The guy ratting his name is Raymond is a captain in Tony family he has been in the background character in season one Tony suggested he be boss because but he didn't want to do it

Veya

there can still be an informant if nobody went away for it, especially if it's a rico case. the mob can frame it as if the person got away before any case is ready for court. for adriana, she can't just stop. she's getting a lot of years if the fbi wants to charge her for the initial crime that they got her for in the first place, possession of drugs at her club. they said they got her on tape.

Veya

there are good cops on the show, the traffic cop that refused tony's bribe. it's also not realistic if ALL cops and FBI show zero care or sympathy for people. that's a very online take. this show has a lot of them being callous but ultimately they aren't portrayed as all bad, just varying degrees of callous.

Veya

title also ties into the idea of loneliness that runs throughout the episode. tony is separated, he and his cousin don't have an easy relationship, and he's more receptive to masserone, when at any other time, he probably would have him killed much faster. it also ties into adrianna's loneliness as well, and carmela is contrasted with adriana in that she has a "rat pack" in her movie group.

Jesse

Art is often political buddy. Whether you think it's an "online take" or not, I disagree with that but regardless, the way that cops are portrayed in media has downstream effects and many shows that have cops are copaganda in some way. Also, that good traffic cop you're talking about was demoted, to the extent that there are "good cops" they tend to get pushed out or pressured to be silent.

Jesse

I think both are true. He wishes his cousin was still working for him but we've also seen, especially for those who have seen the whole show, how homophobic they are. Think about how Junior Soprano responded even to the gossip getting out about him going down on his girlfriend, which was rooted in masculine insecurity. Tony's initial response to Tony B talking about massage therapist kinda weirded him out.

Kwame James

I get that and I've always watched the whole serie if you remember he joked with his wife but he make fun of Junior to he made fun of him talking to much and messing that fly ball

SunnydaleClassof99

#SundayRundown Red fescue is a type of grass. Feech brings some dandelions for Junior to eat. I don't think it's the most commonplace practice but people do it. Junior apparently has a discerning palette though & it rates as an unfavorable grass 😄

SunnydaleClassof99

#SundayRundown Adriana is absolutely going through it. Almost drunkenly blurting out her secret to an audience that won't be sympathetic shows just how in over her head she is. Her tipping the feds to her awful friend Tina's scam doesn't seem like a wise choice either.

Tony

Love Pat, he’s the funniest! Keep it up!
