Sage

One of the best original horror films of the last few years for sure

Curtis Rice

I don't always like to use the term but I would say this is one of the best modern horror films.

Sage

Lol which term don’t you like to use? Modern?

SnapGrapplePop

I loved this film. Haven’t got round the the sequel yet though

Jackie Gibson

I think they meant "films" some people like to call them movies.

Ren Davis

So Suraj is saying he watches horror movies alone in the dark just to feel alive? That’s real talk right there ✊🏾 I have a special place in my heart for this film and Sinister. C. Robert Cargill co-wrote the script for this and Sinister (alongside director Scott Derrickson) and I used to always watch him back when he did reviews on Spill (now defunct) and the Spill Youtube channel 🥲 You can still find their old animated reviews and audio reviews if you search for them on Youtube.

Ren Davis

The saying is “come hell or high water.” It means that you will stop at nothing to accomplish a task. Not even hell or high water will stop you.

Jackie Gibson

Interesting what Suraj said in the beginning, because for me it's the opposite, I have been a horror fan my entire life, so now I don't really get scared at the genre anymore even if it's in complete darkness. I don't mean that as a brag or anything, I still get startled at jump scares, but I honestly can't remember the last time I was scared watching a film or playing a game. Nowadays I analyse the themes, monster design, and story of the genre rather than go expecting to be scared. The best way I describe it is most people go "ahhh! a monster! " And I go "hey, cool monster!" Strangely I feel more from watching musicals, anime, and dramas, than horror. (Although I still very much love horror) Oh this movie was fucking awesome lol

Ren Davis

The real reason that Suraj likes this movie is that Daniel Faraday is in it 😏 Fun fact: his daughter in the film is played by Madeleine McGraw who also played young Hope Van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Hope Van Dyne was Evangeline Lilly. So this is a LOST connection!!!

Sickleweed

Normies I am always wanting more horror reactions from you since they're usually the most entertaining reactions! I will donate money for ice cream for Rana, Pat and company to watch Paranormal Activity. I will send it through your Conjuring reaction so please check (cuz last time I tried doing a $ thanks it just went into the void apparently). Also please consider reacting to Gonjiam Haunted Asylum, Hell House LLC Part 1, Autopsy of Jane Doe, Talk to Me, and Host (2020 movie by Rob Savage). Please and thank you and hugs!

Ren Davis

I’d be down for Black Phone 2. It’s an enjoyable sequel. It suffers from a case of “why does this movie exist beyond cash grab” but it’s actually a pretty enjoyable movie. It puts forth a nice little continuation from the first film if contrived in some key areas. All in all, I liked it. First one is leagues better though. A Sinister reaction would be dope.

Sincerely, the Best.

from what I heard Black Phone 2 is good, so yeah watch it lol

Elizabeth C

You guys should watch Black Phone 2, but even more so the Sinister movies!

Richard Kors

Watched this on deployment , it was intense from star to finish , him keeping the door unlocked had us screaming the kid dont goooo

Sage

Idk if I’ve ever heard that😂😂 I was so confused. A tree is a tree but it’s also a plant

Sage

Please don’t make them suffer through paranormal activity, not because it’s scary ( it truly isn’t) but because those movies are just awful. Ruined the horror genre in the 2000’s and now people that don’t watch horror think Jump scares are what make a horror movie

Sickleweed

Respectfully disagree, I don't think your assessment of those movies is even accurate at all. But you're free to make suggestions of your own, though I would appreciate it if you don't continue to shit on mine just because you didn't enjoy the movies. I've had to skip reactions of movies I didn't like, it won't hurt you to have to do the same.

Adam Vialpando

The trailer though is something I despise. It pretty much shows every single plot point. It's annoying.

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

same, haven't been jump scared almost a strong 10 years until recently watching The VVitch and that damm goat🐐 got me(if ya know ya know😁) girlfriend couldn't stop laughing cause I'm always teasingher bout jump scares lol

Stephanie

@Sickleweed Great response to that comment. People should not tell them what they shouldn't watch. Opinions on movies are subjective, so everyone should see for themselves if they like a movie or not. I personally like the Paranormal Activity movies and would love to see reactions to the whole series.

Sage

I don’t watch trailers to any movie idk why people still do. Just read a little bit of the synopsis, find out who’s acting, find out who’s directing and find out who wrote it. That’s all you need to know when walking in a movie

Armani 🐢

Please react to the sequel. It isn't as good but it is a lot more fun.. If that makes sense.
