Black boy raised by my father and grandmother in the projects. I didn't even raise my voice to my father until I had advanced degrees and beard. My dad would have thrown AJ through a window.

Season 5 is one of my favorite seasons. It had so many great cameos and guest characters. If I remember correctly, Robert Loggia (Feech) kept forgetting his lines, so I believe that's why his character was written off. It's a shame because the show alluded to Feech La Manna early in the show and I think there was a lot of potential with that character, given his history with Tony. I kinda wished Lorraine stuck around longer too. A female mob associate is something that rarely gets shown in media; I felt like that could've been something interesting to touch on. And god... AJ was so insufferable during this period. The actor, Robert Iler did a great job playing him, because I remember hating this character so much. But it's not surprising he acts out this way, because of his upbringing.

applies to most east asians as well. if you talk back to your parents, you will earn a smack at the very least.

in regards to tony dealing with feech, we've seen in the past that buried resentment can cause problems later on. tony only mentions ritchie, but ralphie was also another example. there's no point in letting things settle with feech and having something in the future potentially bubble up based on this already existing tension. at the same time, learning to reconcile the fact that he won't be liked with operating more effectively as a proper authority figure helps him out with aj as we see near the end of the episode he isn't really going out of his way to please him when all he's been doing prior was buying him gifts. so while his need for connection still gets in the way of his fulfillment, we've seen that at least he's willing to make proper adjustments which gives his kids a better chance than he had. that's the central tension of the family dynamics presented and is a possible connection to the title of the episode. also aj can't just call carmela on his cellphone because she might ask to hear from meadow to check if he's actually with her. that's why he asked meadow to lie and chose not to pick up his cell phone.

#SundayRundown When Little Carmine is informed of Lorraine & Jason's murder we see a new character involved in the discussion. He advocates hitting Johnny hard. The character Rusty Millio is played by legendary singer Frankie Valli. Christopher referred to him as a good Italian musician in 1X5 "A Hit Is a Hit" & 2X5 "Big Girls Don't Cry" is named after one of his hit songs.

#SundayRundown First off, I appreciate the avian puns, Chris. Not noticing that your son no longer has eyebrows while looking at his face is WILD. Tony was not exactly aiming for Father of the Year. Cool dads are fun, but AJ needs more than a friend.

Kwame James

#Sunday rundown he couldn't give Feech a chance he gave Richie a chance and he tried to get support to kill Tony but unlike Richie Feech is more liked and respected so if he wanted to make a move on Tony and become the boss it would be easier than Richie
