I can ramble on-and-on about James Gandolfini's acting, but rewatching this with you guys just reminds me of how amazing he is. Gotta be, hands down, the best panic-attack-acting I've ever seen. Two interesting pieces of trivia: 1. Vito being gay/bi wasn't initially planned! It was an idea from the actor that plays him, who pitched it to David Chase. It's inspired by a reportedly gay mobster connected to the Gambino Family. David went on to incorporate it in the story. 2. The amazing writing in The Sopranos, and this episode in particular, is not too surprising when looking at the writers on the show. One of them went on to create/write Boardwalk Empire and the other went on to create/write Mad Men!

Forget a comment from me, Rana. ^ Read the above comment ^ on the #SundayRundown instead.

Suraj, SundayRundown, anybody…. tell Navi it’s not yet okay to wear Cosby sweaters yet 🤣😂… we need a few more decades.

From a scripting and thematic standpoint, this episode is kind of brilliant. Marriage and all of its trappings, the core issues of family and what that means on many different levels. It's an episode I appreciate more in rewatch.

The therapist that Carmela went to see in the early episodes told her to get the kids and just leave. He also talked to her about not accepting blood money. Carmela had many chances to just leave Tony and never look back but she want to keep the lifestyle. So she is stuck because she wants to have her cake and eat it too. I’m not saying she deserves nothing I’m saying she could just do what the therapist says and get as far away from Tony as she can. If that’s what she really wants to. I also think Tony knows that about Carmela and uses it against her to string her along.

Is the Vito reveal maybe the greatest reactor reaction for the group?

The dialog between Silvio and Tony at Joey Peeps funeral is easily one of the funniest moments in the show 🤣

#SundayRundown It's interesting when Little Carmine is having his confab at the beginning he waxes philosophical about his role as leader: "The fundamental question is will I be as effective as a boss like my dad was? And I will be. Even more so, but until I am, it'll be hard to verify that I think I'll be more effective." He's extremely confident when he's saying all this. So much so that it didn't register with you in the moment that it's word salad. It's also a direct quote of George W. Bush.

SunnydaleClassof99

Absolutely. Suraj stoically like an anthropologist, Pat & Navi alternating animated screams of what & why as a spirit enters Chris's body & experiences movement for the first time.

SunnydaleClassof99

#SundayRundown Even though we saw Vito murder Jackie Jr. he's never been more terrifying then when he confronts Finn at the job site. The tension here is ridiculous.

SunnydaleClassof99

#SundayRundown We're very deep into the series here so it isn't anything new but Tony's insecurity is just so colossal. He takes credit for solving "a major problem business-wise" when Tony B actually forced his hand by whacking Joey Peeps. Then says Carmella was "desperate for it". Even with as much as he's revealed to Melfi & had breakthroughs there's still so much of himself he can't acknowledge not even to someone who by law can't repeat it.

I say this with absolute affection for the gentleman Surag: based on this and the Project Hail Mary reaction, maybe dude needs a little LESS weed heading into these things 🤣

Oh, and @Suray, sorry for being a pest about this, but: when can we expect a reaction to The Godfather?! It was supposed to happen ages ago! Vaffanculo *italian hand gestures*
