#SundayRundown - Breakdown of Spider-Man Rights: Sony owns all Film(Both Live-action & Animated), Live-action & Long-Form TV Rights to Spider-Man and his associated characters. Disney via Marvel owns all comic, merchandising, theme parks, and tv animated rights so long as they are shorter form, which is why Disney can have animated Spider-Man shows around 20 minutes an episode(like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on Disney Plus, fantastic show would recommend). Anything animated longer than 44 minutes would be considered Long-Form TV and therefore copyright infringement. Hence why Spider-Noir is a Prime Video show. This show’s Spider-Noir is also NOT the same as the one in the Spiderverse movie.

You say only black and white but I raise you the singing scene in the first episode with the color on and tell me that isn't worth a watch for at least some of the scenes in color alone.

nm you got there lol i'm at the end of the episode

#SundayRundown Glad you're covering this. I already ran through the whole series within 12 hours of it dropping 😄 I feel like this show was made for me. So many highlights early on but Cat's musical number is standout. It's practically otherworldly with how it's shot. I hope this leads to more Cage movies on the channel Mandy (2018) is the biggest one & seems like a natural fit. I'd really love to see The Weather Man (2005), it's an absolutely perfect movie about a depressed weather man whose life is falling apart in slow motion.

The black & white is cool, but I do get what Mickey’s saying. Lighting for B&W was done differently to colour so it doesn’t *quite* have the same feel. I also think that modern attempts at b&w are often too high detail and that throws it off a little as well. I’ll still stick with that version though and I’m enjoying the show so far

Are all these spider noir reaction just gonna be micky anf spidy making jokes and speaking in a 20s Italian mobsters voice?

Chris points this out in the second episode but yeah. In black and white the background looks like old timey painted on matte backgrounds and in color it clearly looks cgi. While you can tell it wasn’t fully lit for black and white the B&W does have the benefit of hiding the messier cgi seams that we can see in color.
