Miss All Sunday: * does literally anything * Me: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 😭 About the "there's only 5 devil fruits that grant the ability to fly", just... don't think about it. Oda simply wanted to make a statement to hype Pell up as a fighter, so he decided to have him share that piece of lore. As of right now, there are way more than 5 fruits that, in one way or another, allow people to fly. One Piece as a story was extended in length multiple times throughout its run, so mistakes like this one are bound to happen.

Pell & Chaka...Pesche & Dondochakka. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! 🧐 They're practically identical!

I've been enjoying yall's reaction to One Piece. It's a great story and this arc especially is the culmination of the last few arcs so it feels liek we are reaction the climax. Are you planning to keep doing 2 episodes per week for the future? Cause it will take about 10 years to catch up by doing that hahaha by then the series will have been over for a few years I think. Are there any plans to watch more episodes per week?

Oda actually addressed this very comment recently lmao. He said that it was basically what Pell believed at the time and not universal truth (of course, it's likely the really reason is that Oda himself actually did mean that when he first wrote it but then had to come up with a way to explain it years later and that was his reason, but still lmao).

Reynaldo Urena

Oda explained in an SBS that Pell’s statement about there being a limited number of devil fruits is strictly based on Pell’s knowledge of the world, Pell has lived his whole life in Alabasta so his knowledge of the world and other Devil Fruits is limited, the world of One Piece lacks in knowledge exchange, hence why back in East Blue, the existence of Devil Fruits weren’t even known as fact or myth.

Our first Crocodile "Mugiwara" in this part lmao. Anyway, Pell! He's pretty sick. His design and Fruit are rad. Anddddd he's been defeated. Damn. His facial markings are interesting, it's both a reference to the tear marks that falcons have and also could just a general reference to Kabuki style makeup in addition (as is Kankuro from Naruto). Why does a guy in a desert kingdom wear makeup on his face? Because it's cool, that's why. Although, actually it's never stated that it's makeup, so for all we know that could literally just be how he looks lol. Or they could even be tattoos! Also Smoker's weapon is a Jitte. It's basically just a cooler looking Japanese version of the Baton that we have in the west as a non lethal weapon used by law enforcement, although unlike the Baton they are no longer in use still.

Xonok

Chris Smoker's weapon is called Jitte (it looks like a staff), and only the tip of the Jitte is made of karoseki (sea stone) , the tip of his Jitte has to make contact with the devil fruit user to make them weaker. The pommel of the weapon is made of regular materials.

So Suraj said that Zoro should be able to take out Smoker in the cage because of the Sea Prism stone cage but that’s not how that would go down. Sea Prism stone only nullifies devil fruit users and makes them weak as long as they remain contact with the stone so Smoker can still turn to smoke inside the cage as long as he doesn’t touch the cage and Zoro can’t touch him. The cage just doesn’t allow Smoker to get out. Smoker can use his weapon because only the tip of the weapon has sea stone. If the entire weapon was sea stone, he would get weak from holding it.

Paradoxhamartia

Yup, I'm aware of that SBS. But just as you said, it's simply a way of fixing a writing mistake through the internal narrative itself. As in "I messed up, but it can still make sense if you look at it this way".

TsukishimaGlazer

That's something that could've been addressed in the future. You're basically spoiling them by telling them Pell is wrong. Let the story do the explanations.

Do they really plan on going on 2 episodes per week? The anime will be over by the time they catch up smh
