whenever i hear the ancestor (not spoiling names yet) i think he's just an angry version of Alex-Louis Armstrong. P.S. when i see Suraj's sneakers under the table i keep thinking his toe is sticking out of a hole...

10/10 arc yall, very few shows/arcs come close to this! ALSO I'm not sure if both of yall got a chance to see a canon description of Sensui's personalities. The last three were never referenced in show/manga but were later revealed by Togashi after the story ends, but here ya go! 1. Shinobu: The original, core personality. He holds a rigid, idealized view of justice, acts as the leader, and possesses the strongest spiritual power. 2. Minoru: The charismatic mastermind and planner. He is proud and manipulative, handles the recruitment of psychics, and fronts the early stages of the plan. 3. Kazuya: A ruthless, sadistic killer. He takes over during intense fights and uses a weaponized spiritual-energy rifle grafted onto his arm. 4. Naru: A fragile, emotional, and childlike female personality who writes poetry. She feels safe only around his close companion, Itsuki. 5. Jooji (George): A cynical, aggressive persona skilled in weapons and military strategy. 6. Makoto: An easygoing, extroverted persona who manages everyday domestic tasks like cooking and shopping. 7. Hitoshi: A gentle, empathetic environmentalist focused on protecting animals and plants from human harm

#SundayRundown #YuYuHakusho 5:09 - I never noticed the upside-down cross! Good catch, Navi! 👍🏽 This ending pissed me off when I first saw it. Back then, I absolutely HATED two particular anime tropes. "That wasn't me, so this victory is meaningless!" and "Heal this bad-guy so that we may have a fair and enjoyable fight!" AND THE END OF THIS ARC COMBINED THEM BOTH! 😫 As an adult, I'm able to appreciate both of these tropes more in terms of character study, but still, if I were there, talking to the group, I would say "Yusuke, I'm sorry about your demonic existential crisis, but this man was about to commit global genocide. F*** 'EM!"

TheGoatshi sure loves his one sided beatdowns this is up there for me along with his other well known scene from that other series he happens to make plus his wife pretty much created magical girls

Kickinthescience

Was it really a trope considering this came before most shonen anime?

25:40 I think the reason Shawn Micheals was flopping because they was supposed to do two matches. Each was suppose to win one. Hogan change his mind and didn't want to lose and do another match. So Shawn did what he did.

Kickinthescience

Sensui and Itsuki got real poetic at the end just like Koenma did with Toguro

This is full on Ichigo Vs. Ulquiorra when Ichigo's full hollow form took over. It's so awesome to see how this Manga's spirit has survived for so long. Also how's Itsuki just gonna throw bars in the most epic mic drop moment of the arc? Hell, he did more damage to the gang than sensui ever did!

Nabeshin

Shounen Jump was a thing decades before YuYu came about, and Goku - for example - was engaging in that trope long before Yusuke was.

Meh

Navi and Chris both hit the point I want to make at the end. Raizen isn't "dormant" he just chose to remote control Yuusuke. Think of all the hundreds of potential unknown mazokus as wifi signals, and Yuusuke is the only one with full bar connection and 100G Up/Dn link speed. (and no they never specify how many there actually are I'm just using the number for impact)

The only money or twist I don’t like in this arc is that Sensui was dying the whole time. I understand that him dying makes him feel the need to go to demon world to die there. But he could’ve still wanted to go to demon world and die by demons hands if he wasn’t terminally ill. It always felt like a little of a jump the shark moment. But it’s a small gripe, but it just felt unneeded.

So basically this is Ichigo vs Ulquiorra. Or Ichigo vs Ulquiorra was this. You get it lol. MC gets killed but then gets taken over by the demon inside him, so to speak (for differing reasons ofc). Demon inside him then beats the SHIT out of the villain, with literally zero difficulty. MC wrestles back control (well tbf, Ulquiorra was the one who broke Ichigo's mask, so that's a bit different there). MC then does the whole "this isn't how i wanted to win!" stuff. Villain then dies anyway because of wounds sustained by the demon within obliterating them moments earlier (a mix of this and terminal illness in Sensui's case). But before dying for good, the villain has a bit of a sympathetic turn/self reflection moment and kinda has a moment with the MC (more so with Orihime than Ichigo in Ulq's case). Classic case of being inspired by something but changing it enough so that it feels like it's own thing. A good homage. Also Itsuki's parting words were real as fuck. And Chris immediately pointing out that it's like the Soul Society hahaha! The YYH x Bleach connection just keeps on going!

I'd 100% be down for a girl's reaction to that, just because it's SO fucking funny.

Javi

Itsuki dropped some fucking bars at the end to the gang LMAO I did not remember him going off that much 🤣

Javi

Im excited for you guys to see the last arc, I think it’s actually quite good despite the abruptness of the ending

J. J.

Love the 3 kings saga. I think you guys will as well. There's also 2 OVAs that came out 20 years after the show ended, all original voice actors returned to do it.

I have to say I really hated this arc as a kid but as an adult I really really love it and love it far more than dark tournament! The dark tournament is cool and good for fights and all and this saga didn’t have as many but it expanded upon a battle of Witt with Kurama and kaito and territories also the battle with sensui was far better than toguro which was mostly the hype it contained and his transformation and all but the actual fight was very disappointing! So much hype and wait for such a disappointment! The Suzaku fight was far better than toguro imo!!!! Suzaku,Rando, elder toguro (not younger) and sensui to me are the best villains. Suzaku is elegant evil and commands 3 other saint beasts and many minions beneath them in a portion of demon world in demon city,Rando is an evil human hunter who could’ve easily become an A and S class demon with proper training and genkais own power. Even she understood that his adaptability was incredible and that he’d take her power far beyond what she could ever go mind you she was near toguros level herself. Elder toguro was evil unlike younger toguro and like Suzaku and Rando they didn’t need a reason to be evil they just were! Suzaku did understand humans were an idiot race that deserved extinction and honestly sensui was the human version of suzaku who thought humans deserve to die. Suzaku basically was what Sensui wanted to do and vice versa they wanted a passage to human and demon world to have demons invade living world. Rando was a solo hunter and didn’t believe in anyone he just wanted to get stronger and was a psychopath and just wanted pain and suffering he and Suzaku were underrated as is elder toguro and sensui but the first two were severely underrated and I wish more ppl remember Suzaku and Rando
