#SundayRundown This was from last weeks episode but just gonna add it again since SR was skipped but I think this info is pretty good to know to understand characters like Yusuke, Kuwabara, and others this season. "High school is 4 years bro." Time for some Japanese school knowledge and some demon biology lessons that you'll want to understand things better. Surprised yall still haven't picked this up with all the anime but in japan high-school is 3 years 16-18. Yusuke and Kuwabara are 15 and going to HS soon. Kuwabaras birthday is just before so he is already 15 meanwhile Yusuke is turning 15 and instead of 3 years in HS he is doing demon world. (Meaning the show has taken place over 1 year so far as of this episode roughly.) Japan's middle school is also 3 years grade 7-9 and elementary is 6 from grade 1-6. After middle school its no longer required to keep going to school. (In the USA most states make you go by age 16. Some 17/18 until you can drop out at minimum.) Grades 1-9 have public schools and are compulsory but high-school is like college in Japan you have to test if you want a good one and pay into it with tuition supplies ect. They do have public high schools that are more open but you still had to pay tuition and supplies fees for them up till 2010 they got rid of tuition before quickly bringing it back in 2013 but based on home income. 2025/2026 they removed it again for public high schools but with politics and finances it may come back. 98% of students still go to HS because these days you kinda need it bare minimum for work but technically in japan finishing middle school is kinda were you can "become a adult" as your not forced to keep being a student. Beyond teens being a big audience for anime/manga. This is probably why alot of stories from Japan treat middle schoolers as "growing up" and high school students are basically in their early adult years because HS has similar stresses finically and educationally for entry like College. Alot of people say things when looking at high school anime like "this feels like their basically college age/adults or they act like they aren't in HS" which is probably a blend of this cultural norm diffrence especially in the years most of the writers grew up in the 80s and before when they think back to their school years along with the focus on the demographic stuff like letting teens put themselves in the characters shoes. This also explains Kuwabaras situation thinking about his future and how this can also make Yusuke one of the few 5%ish percent in the 80/90s that didnt go to High Shool and became a adult at 15 basically. Which has some weight to his character being delinquent still and not a normal Japanese student. As for demon food. Dietary requirements vary by individual species, personal choice, and biological needs rather than being a universal rule for all. Although it seems stronger or older species are more reliant on humans as food. The easiest way to think of it is 1st species. Most low class demons dont need it but are basically omnivores. Some species like plant/animal like demons or even human like ones like Hieis sister Yukina's species dont need meat at all or can eat other demons/animals. Secondly most powerful demons are super old like Kurama or likely older (Kurama possessing/living in a human body kinda gets him around this rule even if he was old enough). Most of the more powerful demons being older means they come from a time when the human world was accessible and thier diet consisted of humans regularly wheather by choice/taste or biology based. When spirit world put up the barrier 100s/1000s of years ago most demons had to either biologically evolve to not need humans to eat or die off. Those who were not weak enough to pass the barrier and didnt die/evolve had to get humans supplied to them by low levels bringing them back like the kings probably can. We see/hear that Raizen cut humans cold turkey even though we see he needs them biologically and hes just that strong to survive without food but slowly is powering down. While Mukuro said belive them or not they are trying to slowly curb their taste for humans over time instead of quitting cold turkey. If they dont need to eat them biologically and only crave it or they are slowly adapting/evolving then this method may work. Its probably less a hassle to have your primary food source be gotten in another world for you too. Yomi meanwhile thinks the human population is a infestation and a unified demon world under him will eat as it pleases. He being a similar age to know Kurama means he may only be eating humans for taste or because as he grew stronger to be a king level he desired it more biologically we dont know so far. Demons not needing humans in a diet not by evolution/species needs but by choice can be thought almost like vegetarianism or veganism but like in the real world depending on your biology not everyone can safely do so even on protein/iron ect suppliments because humans have evolved to be omnivores and not every persons body can simply adapt over time/ cut cold turkey due to body differences or pre existing medical needs.

Darkman30

The Three Kings in this season are such cool characters. Each of them have their own unique personalities. Can't wait for next episode!

Solebat

Hunter X Hunter wrapped up because Togashi didn't give them much, but the election arc wasn't really an epilogue and the story is still going on til this day.

GoldArthur

I don't get it. Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems like ever since the Chapter Black arc ended, you guys haven't been taking the show seriously at all. Like you're already checked out...

Shockzz1234

I mean tbf it could just be because the tone of the series itself shifted. Chapter Black is the darkest/grittiest it gets, these episodes have been much more light-hearted than most of it. The show relaxes and so do they in accordance.

Yusuke immediately tried to kill his "dad" 🤣🤣🤣 real daddy issues
